In the second portion of the Good Morning America interview with R. Kelly, women connected to the singer tearfully defended him. From their vantage point, Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary both believe that the allegations Kelly faces are all lies and a ploy from their parents to get money.

CBS News reports:

The two women who live with R. Kelly are defending him and their relationship with him. Azriel Clary, 21, and Joycelyn Savage, 23, told “CBS This Morning” co-host Gayle King they love Kelly even though their families claim he has brainwashed them. The women said there is nothing inappropriate about their relationship with the 52-year-old.

“What is your relationship, both of you, with R. Kelly?” King asked.

“We’re with him, that’s our relationship,” Clary said.

“Yeah, we’re with him, yeah, that’s what it is,” Savage said.

“We live with him, and we’re in a relationship with him, we just said it,” Clary said.

“A very strong relationship as well,” Savage added.

“Both of you?” King asked.

“Yes,” they said, with Savage adding, “Most definitely.”

Robin Roberts Details Her “Challenging” Jussie Smollet ‘GMA’ Interview

ABC's 'Good Morning America' - 2019

Jussie Smollett first alleged back in late January that he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack, setting off a whirlwind of events subsequently leading to many believing it was all a hoax. Good Morning America host Robin Roberts who sat down with the Empire actor almost three weeks ago shared details about the interview that she describes as one of the “most challenging interviews I’ve ever had to do.”

Speaking at The Cut’s “How I Get It Done” event at the 1 Hotel Bridge on Monday (March 4) Roberts explains she was initially unsure if she wanted to do the interview in the first place. She decided to go through with the sit down after they promised her she could speak about the “red flags” in Jussie’s story and that she would get new information from Smollett.

Roberts breaks down how she felt the interview was a “no-win” situation for her being a Black gay woman as she tried to be “neutral” as possible during the sit-down and that she would have pressed Smollett about the arrest of the two Nigerian men had she known.

Via Page Six:

“I said, ‘I don’t want to sit down with him if he’s going to lawyer up. And then I was told, ‘He wants to speak with you,’ [because] he was outraged by people making assumptions about whether it had happened or not.”

“They said, ‘He wants to say things that he has not said’ and I’m like, ‘As a journalist, as a newsperson, this is newsworthy, he’s going to go on record for the first time, yes I’ll do the interview.”

“I sit down with him, and I don’t know what he’s going to say. Following up [about how] he couldn’t believe people didn’t believe him, well I go, ‘You’re out 2 o’clock in the morning, you’re getting a sandwich, [and] you won’t give up your phone.’”

“People are looking at the interview through the eyes of ‘How did you not know? I did the interview 48 hours before then. Had I had that information or [knew] what the brothers were alleging, heck yeah, I would have asked him about that.”

“I pride myself in being fair, I know how much work went into being balanced about what had happened and to challenge him on certain things.”

If this all pans out to be a hoax after the dust settles, we would understand if Roberts wants to issue Jussie Smollett a fade for wasting her time.

Jussie Smollett is now speaking out regarding the alleged racist and homophobic attack he suffered in Chicago, despite some believing the story to be fabricated. The Empire star sat down with GMA Thursday (Feb. 14) and stood fast on the fact that the attack did indeed happened and explained some of the developments in the wake of the incident.

ABC7Chicago.com reports:

An exclusive interview with the actor aired Thursday morning on ABC’s Good Morning America. Robin Roberts asked him what was making him so angry.

“It’s the attackers, but also the attacks,” he said, adding of those who don’t believe his story, “It’s not necessarily that you don’t believe that this is the truth, you don’t even want to see the truth.”

The interview comes more than two weeks after Smollett told police that he was attacked in Chicago by two masked men yelling racial and homophobic slurs, including “MAGA Country.” He said that the attackers poured a bleach-smelling liquid on him and put a noose around his neck.

Smollett said the attack was so quick that he didn’t see much of his attackers. In fact, he said it was so fast he did not notice there was a rope around his neck until it was over.

Kevin Hart is back on the scene in for a promo press run for his upcoming film Upside, but there is a looming specter of the LBGTQ controversy that’s still dogging him. The actor and comedian sat down with Good Morning America and briskly addressed the issue along with saying he’s moving on from The Oscars and beyond the controversy as well.

From Good Morning America:

“I’m over it,” Hart said multiple times on “GMA” Wednesday morning when asked about his apology or the controversy. “There’s no more conversation about it … I’m over that, I’m over the moment.”

Hart added that he apologized back in the late 2000s when the comments first happened and multiple times after.

“I’m not giving no more explanation of who I am,” he added. “I’m just done.”

The actor said he has given all he can thus far and “said everything I can possibly say.”

Earlier this week, Hart apologized to the LGBTQ community on his SiriusXM program, Straight From The Heart. He added in his GMA chat that any hope of him hosting The Oscars is out.
