Meek Mill is Joined by Lil Durk, Lil Baby, and More at MSG ‘Expensive Pain’ Show

On Saturday (Oct. 23) Meek Mill took over Madison Square Garden for a performance celebrating his Expensive Pain album.

Joining Meek in MSG for D’Usse and celebration was Lil Baby, A$AP Ferg, Lil Uzi Vert, Fabolous, and more.

Yahoo! Entertainment was on hand at the Garden show and in addition to performing the album, Meek brought out Bobby Shmurda, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, 42 Dugg, EST Gee, Fivio Foreign, and more.

In its first week, Expensive Pain debut at No. 3. Billboard notes the album will move 95,000 equivalent album units in its first week. 10,000 of that number were album sales, while 82,000 were made up of SEA units, equaling 110.53 million on-demand streams of the project’s songs.

Meek Mill is part of the viewing public has seen Netflix’s latest phenomenon, Squid Game. The series is about to be the most-watched in Netflix history, but Meek has viewed that the dynamics of the series mirror “hood poverty.”

In Squid Game, 456 participants who are financially strapped compete in children’s games that turn deadline to win a cash prize worth billions. Throughout the series, people gang up and often betray each other to be the last man standing. Meek sees that as part of the current outlook of the hood.

The themes suggested by Meek in the tweet are also present in the verses on his new Expensive Pain album. The new album features Lil Baby, Kehlani, Lil Uzi Vert, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, Lil Durk, A$AP Ferg, Brent Faiyaz, Giggs, and Vory.

In celebration of the Expensive Pain album, Meek Mill has announced the “Expensive Pain: Meek Mill & Friends” album playback concert on Oct. 23 at Madison Square Garden. He will perform the new project in its entirety alongside several star-studded special guests. Tickets for the show will be available for purchase today at noon ET HERE.

Drake Praises Meek Mill Amid Album Release

A few years ago, fans of Drake and Meek Mill probably never imagined a day where the two rappers would come together to celebrate one another on their success and make a few joints together in the studio.

At 12 AM, Meek Mill released his highly anticipated album Expensive Pain to which the Certified Lover Boy himself showed the Philly native some love and promoted his 5th studio album.

“PAIN GETS EXPENSIVE AT MIDNIGHT,” Drake wrote on his Instagram story. “@meekmill proud of u boy since the Bahamas cook up we were plotting on the next chapter time to eat.”

The feud between Drake and Meek Mill sparked in 2015 when Meek Mill stated that Drake used a ghostwriter to write his bars. After a few jabs at one another through their music, it’s great to see the two put the beef aside and continue to elevate in their careers. Congratulations to Meek Mill on his 5th studio album.

Meek Mill has officially released his fifth studio album, Expensive Pain. The new album features Lil Baby, Kehlani, Lil Uzi Vert, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, Lil Durk, A$AP Ferg, Brent Faiyaz, Giggs, and Vory.

In celebration of the Expensive Pain album, Meek Mill has announced the “Expensive Pain: Meek Mill & Friends” album playback concert on Oct. 23 at Madison Square Garden. He will perform the new project in its entirety alongside several star-studded special guests. Tickets for the show will be available for purchase today at noon ET HERE.

The new Expensive Pain album tackles mental health, criminal justice reform, and more. Leading up to the new album, Meek placed the album artwork across several landmarks and billboards across the country, including boats in Miami, buses in Philadelphia, murals and buses in Los Angeles, billboards in Times Square, buildings in Harlem, and trains in Atlanta.

Meek Mill Reveals the Tracklist to ‘Expensive Pain’ Album

Meek Mill Expensive Pain

Today marks the last day before the release of Meek Mill’s 5th studio album, Expensive Pain. The record will be the first full-length project since the rapper’s release of his Grammy-nominated album, Champions, in 2018.

The Philidelphia native shared the tracklist to the upcoming 17 track album post to his Instagram stories earlier today.

Before the tracklist release, the rapper posted the cover art to his album across the country for promotion. Fans could find the album’s artwork, painted by Nina Chanel Abney, on the nearest bus, boat, and billboard in a city near them.

The album is expected to have features from A$AP Ferg, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Lil Durk, Kehlani, Brent Fiyaz, Lil Baby, and more.

The Philidelphia giant also showed love to former hip-hop talents Lil Snupe and Nipsey Hussle by writing their names on the side of his single titled “Angels.”

Expensive Pain will release at midnight.
