Dame Dash Plans to Release Weekly Video Content About Maintaining Diabetes

Dame Dash says he has become a “content creating machine” during the quarantine.

The mogul told Page Six that this is the perfect time for “a guy like me to shine.”

“[We’re] in a time where everyone is sitting at home. You have to find the light in the dark… be able to create and understand the whole world does not exist anymore and whoever has a business model about people coming together — whether it’s a club or an artist — you’re not going to be getting no money like that for at least a year… I think this pandemic has forced people to really think outside of the box.”

Dash is diabetic and wants to create content about maintaining the disease, in addition to a weekly cooking show. “I’m going to release new content every single week… I have a daily cooking show called, ‘Health Is Wealth.’ and I’m working on the ‘Dash Diabetes Show’… giving content about maintaining your diabetes because it’s very important to be in control right now,” he said.

Dame Dash is also working on a short film, For NYC, with Noel Ashman and Julie Pacino.

Lizzo Claps Back At Jillian Michaels For Diabetes Comment

Lizzo Performs In Sydney

Lizzo has been widely celebrated not only for her crowd-pleasing music but her abundant display of self-love and acceptance while shattering so-called beauty norms. The Cuz I Love You star caught a stray shot from celebrity fitness trainer Jillian Michaels, and she fired back as only Lizzo can.

Earlier in the week, Michaels, who some might remember from The Biggest Loser series, was a guest on Buzzfeed News’ AM to DM show discussing a wide range of topics. When the host made mention of Lizzo and body acceptance, Michaels offered commentary that many observers have categorized as shade masked as concern.

“Why are we celebrating her body,” Michaels asked after the host mentioned stars like model Ashley Graham along with the “Truth Hurts” artist as women who celebrate their size and curves. “Why does it matter? That’s what I’m saying. Why aren’t we celebrating her music? ‘Cause it isn’t gonna be awesome if she gets diabetes. I’m just being honest.”

The Lizzo comments begin at the 8:20-minute mark.

Michaels added that she and her child are fans of Lizzo’s music but then slid a comment saying, “but it’s never a moment where I’m like ‘and I’m so glad she’s overweight!’”

It seems like Michaels was both trying to keep it the focus on Lizzo’s music while also staying on brand as a fitness enthusiast, but it didn’t play well with some fans.

Lizzo apparently caught wind of the comment and took to Instagram Live to let Michaels know how she feels. The video below, courtesy of @Enchanted_Body_, features some profanity so mind your speakers.

In addition, Lizzo stunted on all the haters by showing off her rooftop digs and letting it be known that she and all who support her “deserve to be happy.”

Amen to that. Check out that video below.

Ed Lover and Doctor Dré became the faces of Yo! MTV Raps after the original host, Fab 5, stepped down.

Before MTV Raps, there wasn’t any television programming dedicated to Hip Hop. The pair will forever be engraved in Hip Hop history and helped pioneer the genre’s national influence on television.

Basically, I’ve been going through a whole resurgence of my life. I stopped at one point and now I’m doing this. Through the blessings of the late-great Dick Gregory and some people he’d known, I’ve worked with some holistic doctors out there to change what goes in my body and actually work with trying to do the best to treat diabetes.”

Doctor Dré did share that his vision loss wasn’t because of his illness, but because he had his retinas reattached. He now has scar tissue behind his eyes from the procedure, but he says when it fluctuates, his vision briefly returns.

Although he felt like he was knocking on “death’s door” his faith kept him moving. Check out the full conversation below:
