O.T. Genasis Is Back With Another Gang Banger Themed Remake Song [Video]

O.T. Genasis is attempting to extend his hot streak with his unconventional approach to singing. He has added his own street flair to a Grammy nominated pop single.

As spotted on HipHopDX the Atlanta native has remixed Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles”. The result is yet another gang banger influenced take on the piano driven tune that once captivated White American in 2002. As expected the lyrics are nothing nice. “When I meet you, I won’t miss you / I’ll put you under / ‘Cause you gon’ fall, from my 9 / I like walk-ups, I love drive-bys / ‘Cause you know I’ll hit you with my 9 / Yo momma won’t see you tonight.”

His delivery misses the mark when trying to hit the original notes but the “Cut It” rapper has clearly run out of F’s to give. Nevertheless he still brings the performance to life in a hilarious video that finds him at the piano while sporting a blue rag on his head. Even though it is clear he doesn’t know how to play the keys he takes the role quite serious.

This is not the first time the man born Odis Oliver Flores has attempted to bring the gap with his off key vocals. In late 2019 he turned Keyshia Cole’s “Love” into a Crip-tastic ballad about laying down his street rivals. While “Never Knew” became a viral sensation it was all to the dismay of Keyshia Cole who publicly panned his effort.

“My only concern—this is a genuine concern is that you know, I am trying to get my music where it used to be. I’m trying to find that passion for the music that I used to have so long ago when I was trying to get out of Oakland,” she explained. “So I would like my classics to be left alone. Is that wrong as an artist to say?”

Crips Apologize to Nipsey Hussle’s Family for Trying to Trademark ‘The Marathon Continues’ Phrase

The battle to figure out who will own the slogan “The Marathon Continues” has come to an end. The Crips realized that they overstepped a boundary by trying to trademark Nipsey Hussle’s catchphrase.

The slain rapper’s brother, Blacc Sam, fired back at the gang with a lawsuit for the rights over the saying. The Blast reports the official company formed by the street gang, Crips LLC, fell back from the lawsuit and apologized to Sam and Lauren London.

In addition to the surrendering of their legal battle, the Crips also “respectively vow to support the wishes of Lauren London and the Asghedom family.”

William King Hollis, a spokesperson for the Crips, has issued the following statement: “We realize that our actions may have been offensive and we have reached out to his family, respectively Nips sister, Samantha Smith. We are deeply sorry for any disruptions and melee that the trademark acquisition may have caused to his family, friends and fans.”

Hopefully Nipsey Hussle can rest in peace now, and the marathon will truly continue.

Dave East Hosts NYC Vigil for Nipsey Hussle

Although Nipsey Hussle was a Crenshaw native, he received love all the way from the East Coast.

Dave East took to Instagram Monday evening to announce the rapper’s vigil at Santos Party House in New York City and urged people to come out.

Many people came out Monday night to show their respects to the slain emcee including Mysonne the General.

Nipsey Hussle was gunned down in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon outside of his clothing store, The Marathon. The alleged suspect, Eric Holder, is wanted for the homicide of the Grammy-nominated rapper. He’s reportedly from Nip’s region and had a personal vendetta against the rapper following an incident in the store prior to the shooting.

The Source continues to mourn the loss of Nipsey Hussle who was a talented musician, tech savvy business man, dedicated community leader, and father. RIP.

Nipsey Hussle Was Scheduled to Meet With LAPD, Roc Nation to Discuss Combating Gang Violence

Nipsey Hussle was more than a rapper. He was an activist, philanthropist and a leader for all young Black kings with a troubled past destined for greatness.

The Crenshaw rapper was scheduled to meet with the LAPD today alongside Roc Nation to discuss ways to combat gang violence. Ironically, authorities are suggesting that the shooting was gang related. Many fans are having trouble to believe those reports because Nipsey was known to go to any hood comfortably without security, especially his own hood.

There aren’t any further details in regards to the meeting besides the fact that Nipsey Hussle is the one who requested the meeting and it was supposed to go down today at 4:00pm. Hopefully it still goes on because like the late rapper said, the marathon must continue.
