SOURCE SPORTS: Knicks Monitoring Karl Anthony-Towns for Potential Blockbuster Trade

Since losing Kristaps Porzingis last season and missing the opportunity to land a superstar free agent this past offseason, the Knicks are still looking to add a superstar talent to the roster. According to the New York Post, Karl Anthony-Towns could be a potential target.

Marc Berman reports that the Knicks are monitoring the Minnesota T’Wolves star big man. The Knicks are reportedly looking to create a blockbuster trade for a “disgruntled” superstar such as Towns who is averaging 22 points and 12 rebounds in his career.

The 24-year-old former Kentucky Wildcat signed a 5-year $158 million contract that prevents him from being a free agent until 2024. During the offseason, The Knicks had cap space to add two superstars, but since they were unable to land the big names they opted to spread out short term contracts with the longest being a 3-year commitment to Julius Randle.

If Towns were to join the Knicks in the future, he would get the opportunity to see the Sixers Big Man and rival of Anthony-Towns, Joel Embiid 4 times a season. Towns and Embiid have always thrown shots at each other but the rivalry got physical this season resulting in a two-game suspension for both ballers.
