Rick Ross Addresses Missing Pusha-T Verse on ‘Maybach Music VI’

Rick RossPort of Miami 2 arrived on Friday, but fans who were hoping to hear a collaboration between Pusha-T and Lil Wayne were left disappointed.

During an interview with “Ebro in the Morning” on Hot 97, Rozay addressed the missing Pusha verse on “Maybach Music VI.” “What’s so dope about it is both verses were cleared from both parties,” he said. “But like I said, it was more about the bigger picture. Is this gonna move them two getting together, you know, closer? I’ma take the charge for that. I didn’t feel like this was the time for that.”

The MMG boss previously said that both Pusha and Wayne had recorded verses for “Maybach Music VI,” but they were unaware they would be on the same track.

He ultimately decided that now was not the right time for a collaboration between the G.O.O.D. Music and Young Money rappers. “I wanted to bring them together either way, at least spark that conversation ’cause it’s gon’ come,” he explained. “And I feel like next year I’ma be a part of that when that Drake, Wayne, Pusha, Kanye record come together. I’m saying it here first.”

Despite their rivalry, Rozay is hopeful that they will eventually come together. “Why wouldn’t it? It’s for the game. I’ma big dreamer. It’s the boss. My intentions was to get Pusha and Wayne together and I felt like, you know, I came close to that.”

He added, “It wasn’t about me having the record. It’s more about the big picture, which is bringing these two icons together.”

One of Pusha’s associates, Michael Camargo (who goes by Upscale Vandal on Twitter), claims Pusha had cleared the verse even after he became aware that Wayne would be on the song.

In the end, only Weezy appears on the final version of “Maybach Music VI,” which also features vocals from John Legend. Listen below.
