Quavo and Saweetie Won’t Face Criminal Charges for Elevator Fight

Quavo and Saweetie are both off the hook in their infamous elevator fight.

Neither rapper will face criminal charges for the physical altercation that was caught on camera. According to TMZ, the L.A. City Attorney’s Office has declined to file charges. Due to insufficient evidence, there was no likelihood of a conviction for either party.

Surveillance video, captured prior to the couple’s breakup, shows them struggling over an orange Call of Duty case. Saweetie seems to take the first swing at Quavo before he grabs her by the arm and drags her to the elevator floor. She remains on the floor until the elevator eventually stops and she limps out.

The LAPD was investigating the incident and wanted to interview both Quavo and Saweetie separately to determine what happened before and after the elevator footage was captured.

Saweetie later acknowledged that the altercation happened a year ago when the couple was still together. Since the fight, they were able to reconcile, but other issues led to their eventual breakup.

“This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on,” said Saweetie.

Quavo also released a statement, denying that he was physically abusive to his ex-girlfriend. “We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from,” he said. “I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall.”

After taking a shot at her ex on her recent song “See Saw,” Saweetie is single and moving on. “I’ve learned that the world doesn’t stop for anybody,” she told W Magazine after their breakup. “And it’s for sure not going to stop for me just because I got my heart broke.”

Erica Mena Claps Back at Wendy Williams: “At This Point Let’s Link Up So I Can Beat Your Ass”

Although it’s supposed to be a time for celebration and happiness, since Erica Mena and her husband Safaree Samuels have announced that they are expecting baby number two, Erica has been clapping back left and right on social media.

First, Mena found herself clapping back at rapper and youtuber, Amy Luciani after Amy accused Mena of stealing her pregnancy photo shoot concept from her. This time, Mena is clapping back at Wendy Williams for a few comments she made on her television show regarding Erica and Safaree.

“Granted, there’s been mistakes made, immaturely, but a marriage is a marriage,” Mena said in a video posted to her social media. “And unfortunately, there’s been mishaps. In any marriage, sh*t happens. When you’re in the public eye, my husband and I have both realized that things should be kept in.”

As Erica’s video surfaced the internet, the video also made its way to the desk of media mogul, Wendy Williams which led to the Love and Hip Hop couple being discussed in Hot Topics. “We’re not trying to do anything, you’re the one putting it out there, Erica,” Williams said in response to the video. “You and Safaree. I don’t really know you much Erica, but I do know Safaree enough and you all need to stop fighting and threatening divorce so much. And you all need to grow up and grow into being parents and if you’re not gonna wanna be married, then get a divorce and co-parent.”

“And babies don’t save marriages, but good luck, at least your first, six months,” she continued.

“@WendyWilliams At this point let’s link up so I can beat your ass,” Erica penned in a tweet. “Your ex husband didn’t do a good enough job.”

50 Cent Uproots to Houston to Produce New Docuseries

When business calls, 50 Cent is first on the line. The Southside Jamaica Queens native has always represented his birthplace, but now he taking his talents to the South.

Earlier this year, he echoed his support of Texas’ Governor, Greg Abbot. Abbot lifted the Lone Star State’s mask mandate well before vaccines were distributed across the country. Since then Texas has been fully open for business. Once 50 Cent caught wind of the state’s new policy, he was on board.

“I’m headed to Texas f*ck this.”

The legendary rapper and film producer is now trading in his Mets and Yankees fitted cap for an Astros one, literally. Rest assure that he packed a number of fitted caps to continue to represent his home teams.

Fif recently took to social media to make the announcement about his new place of residence.

“I Love NY, but i live in Houston now i’ll explain later,” he wrote as his caption on Instagram, posing with a Houston Astros cap on his head.

In the same post, he announced his next G-Unit Film & Television project with Discovery + entitled, “Confessions of a Crime Queen.”

According to the Deadline, the series will follow Queenpins, who built criminal empires, but later saw it come to end.

He even received a warm welcome from Houston’s mayor and the NAACP.

In addition, 50 recently announced the July 18th release date for his Power spin-off: “Raising Kanan.” The anticipation is high and Curtis Jackson continues to deliver.

Is Yung Bleu Saving R&B?

He confidently says so. Yung Bleu a.k.a Bleu Vandross has musically flourished through versatility. When you add Vandross to your name, the pressure certainly heightens.

Prior to Drake-assisted hit single, “You’re Mine Still, he released a series of projects including his Investments and Bleu Vandross series. As his notoriety began to grow, the Mobile, AL artist received an alley-hoop from fellow Mobile native and NBA All-Star, Demarcus Cousins. Cousins encouraged both Drake and Bleu to collab on a track and the rest is history.

Now he is coming for the R&B crown. He recently hopped on Triller to express his feeling towards the current state of R&B.

“I’m saving r&b n*ggas lyrics dnt hit this deep no more ..just wait on it,” he captioned.

Yung Bleu then received an endorsement from Grammy-nominated, R&B veteran, Tank, when The Neighborhood Talk reposted his Triller video.

“You gotta let this generation sing their r&b the way they feel it,” says Tank under The Neighborhood Talk post. “The rhythm always changes and the blues is personal so no one can tell you how to create your art. ‘Real’ is what’s true to you. That kid @bleuvandross is dope and he has the support of a person who’s been doing it successfully for over 20 years! R&B MONEY!”

A fan took to the comments as well saying, “this is not ‘real’ R&B, while others embraced the talent of Yung Bleu similar to Tank.

While there continue to be many comparisons of “classic” and current R&B, the true beauty lies within the moment of the art. Let it live before the comparison are brought to the forefront. Until then savor it.
