New Music: Cardi B – ‘Money’

Cardi B is making more “Money” moves.

Two days ahead of its scheduled release, the Bronx rapper drops “Money,” the first solo release since her debut album Invasion of Privacy. Barbi flexes about her cash flow, private jets, and leather pajamas on the bossy money-making anthem, produced J. White, who helmed the 6x platinum “Bodak Yellow.”

“I was born to flex, diamonds on my neck / I like boardin’ jets / I like morning sex,” she raps over the hard-hitting piano instrumental. “But nothin’ in this world that I like more than checks.”

The new mom also addresses her critics (“I heard that Cardi went pop / Yeah, I did go pop / That’s me bustin’ they bubble”), the competition (“Cardi at the tip-top, bitch / Kiss the ring and kick rocks, sis”), and shouts out her and Offset’s daughter (“But nothin’ in this world that I like more than…Kulture!”).

Cardi previously announced that she is working on a new project that would consist of tracks that didn’t make her 2x platinum-selling debut as well as new music.
