Nelly’s Publicized Sexual Assault Dilemma Finally Over

Midwest rapper Nelly can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The hip-hop veteran no longer has to worry about a publicized sexual assault case anymore.

According to reports, the legal nightmare has officially been dismissed after both sides reached a low-key agreement.

According to court records, the lawsuit was dismissed earlier this week with prejudice … meaning Nelly’s accuser, Monique Greene, cannot re-file the case at a later date. Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, tells The Blast, “The lawsuit with Nelly and accuser has been dropped. Both parties have mutually agreed to drop the lawsuit. No settlement or money changed hands.” (The Blast)

Initially, accuser Monique Green claimed Nelly sexually attacked her in his tour bus last year.

Greene claimed that the “Country Grammar” rapper sexually assaulted her on his tour bus in October 2017. Green refused to testify against 43-year-old Nelly, saying the pressure was too much to handle, so she dropped the rape charges and sued him instead. (Page Six)

In December 2017, attorney Scott Rosenblum spoke out on Green suing Nelly.

Nelly’s attorney, Scott Rosenblum, tells TMZ … “It comes as no surprise that Ms. Green filed a lawsuit against Nelly seeking money after we announced our intention to hold her accountable. We always believed her accusation was motivated by greed.” He adds, Nelly plans to countersue. (TMZ)

A few days prior, Rosenblum announced Nelly’s intent to go after Green with his own lawsuit.

“The formal close of the investigation into the false allegations made against Nelly is of course welcome – however expected. We were confident, that what our investigation revealed from the outset of this allegation would ultimately be clear and Nelly would be vindicated. A thorough investigation did show Nelly was a victim of deceitful allegation devoid of credibility. Credible evidence did show this accuser to be deceptive. We have been in constant communication with the King County authorities and welcomed and appreciated the diligence in which the authorities proceeded. Leaving no stone unturned. Nelly recognizes the need for women who are victims of sexual assault of any kind to be heard and our existing systems changed […] However, this type of reckless false allegation cannot be tolerated as it is an affront to the real survivors of sexual assault. Nelly has suffered very real damage to his reputation. He has incurred economic loss and painfully has watched his family suffer. As a result Nelly is planning to proceed with litigation as the first step in restoring his reputation.” (Statement)
