JAY-Z is Nominated For the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame For The First-Time

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their 16 nominees and Hip Hop’s own, JAY-Z was nominated for the first time.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Hov’s debut which makes him now eligible for contention.

Dionne Warwick, Fela Kuti, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, Rage Against the Machine, Todd Rundgren, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, and the Go-Go’s are all nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of fame also.

The inductees for the 36th annual class will be announced in May and the ceremony is scheduled for Fall.

Last year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee ceremony was a remote celebration that aired on HBO due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Hopefully that’s not the case this year.

Congratulations to all the nominees!
