North Carolina rapper J. Cole sounds like he’s cooking up all 2019. The hip-hop veteran has hinted at plans to finally come through on releasing a song he’s teased since 2017.

On Friday (February 8), Jermaine went to Twitter to acknowledge a fan’s request to finally hear a studio release of his “Want You To Fly” song.

Cole and Dreamchasers boss Meek Mill are gearing up to perform at next week’s 2019 NBA All-Star Game in North Carolina.

The 2019 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game has announced a lineup of musical performances. The game will open with a performance from Meek Mill, while J. Cole will headline the event’s halftime show. The 68th annual NBA All-Star Game is happening February 17 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. (Pitchfork)

Veteran crooner Anthony Hamilton is also slated to pull through for a performance.

Charlotte-born R&B singer Anthony Hamilton will perform the U.S. National Anthem, and Carly Rae Jepsen will sing the Canadian National Anthem. The 68th annual NBA All-Star Game will air live at 8 p.m. ET on TNT and will be seen by fans in more than 200 countries and territories in more than 40 languages. (NBA)

Both Cole and Meek have remained in the headlines this month for a series of positive activities.

The seven-time Grammy Award nominee received two nominations this year. He’s had five No. 1 albums on the Billboard Top 200 and released his latest single, “Middle Child,” on Jan. 23. Mill and Jay-Z launched the REFORM Alliance, “a prison reform organization with sports and business leaders to try and reform the criminal justice system,” according to the NBA’s announcement.
