Exclusive: Tory Lanez Teases Chris Brown, Meek Mill Joint Projects

Tory Lanez is taking no days off.

After dropping two projects this year, Memories Don’t Die and Love Me Now?, the hard-working Toronto hitmaker is readying more music for the new year. In fact, he has over 13 albums of unreleased material waiting in the wings.

“If I died, God forbid, I got at least like 13 more albums I could just put out,” he tells Rap-Up. “I work and get ideas every single day. That’s what’s therapeutic for me. I make music every single day.”

Among his upcoming projects are his Spanish album El Agua and Cause, an homage to his 2014 mixtape Lost Cause. “It’s something for all my real fans,” he explains. “Lost Cause is really the project that shaped who I am as an artist. This is a lot of pain, a lot of real music.”

He’s also readying Chixtape 5, the long-awaited fifth installment in his throwback mixtape series. “This one is crazy,” he says. “It’s basically this series where I flip and sample all these old school classics, either R&B or rap records from those eras and times. The stuff that we sample and the way we bring it back is so tasteful that it has its own cult following.”

Additionally, he plans to launch a “My World to Your World” series consisting of 6-8-track collaborative projects with some of his favorite artists including Meek Mill, Trippie Redd, and Chris Brown, who he collaborated with on “DucK my Ex” and “FlEXiBle” off Love Me Now?

“We just got in the studio one day and came out with nine songs,” he says of Breezy. “It’s been a good process. It’s been dope.”

He also has more music on deck with his “DrIP DrIp Drip” collaborator Meek. “We got so many side records. We just have to actually put it together. That’s all.”

And Tory has even bigger plans for the future. “I’ma be the biggest artist in the world one day,” he adds. “We’re moving closer to that goal.”
