EMPIRE Cast Pen Letter To Fox Requesting Jussie Smollett’s Season 6 Return

The “Empire” team wants Jussie Smollett back-back. New reports claim key cast members penned an open letter of support to TV network Fox to bring back the controversial public figure.

According to reports, “Empire” stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson joined others in requesting Smollett to return for its sixth season.

Henson, Howard, and the rest of the drama series’ top cast, penned an April 19 letter to Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier, Disney TV Studios and ABC Entertainment chair Dana Walden, Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn, Empire co-creators Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, and other executive producers on the series, Varietyconfirmed. “Together, as a united front, we stand with Jussie Smollett and ask that our co-star, brother and friend be brought back for our sixth season of Empire,” read the letter, obtained by Deadline. It is signed by Bryshere Y. Gray, Trai Byers, Gabourey Sidibe, Nicole Ari Parker, and others. (Variety)

Last month, New York rapper 50 Cent trolled Jussie with an R. Kelly meme.

A few weeks ago, R&B singer and former “Empire” guest star Ne-Yo said he never believed Jussie staged his attack.

Last month, reports emerged about Smollett having his case dropped after initially facing serious jail time.

Smollett, 36, was seen arriving at a Chicago courtroom around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday for an emergency hearing. Following his court appearance, his attorneys released a statement saying that the actor’s “record has been wiped clean of the filing of this tragic complaint against him.” (NBC News)
