Dave East turned himself in to police for allegedly attacking a man while leaving a party cruise.

According to TMZ, the Harlem rapper surrendered in NYC on Tuesday morning (Oct. 2) and has been charged with misdemeanor assault. He was accused of punching 28-year-old Joel Rosario near Pier 40 as he was leaving the cruise and walking along the marina.

Rosario claims the attack was unprovoked and he had no prior altercation with East on the cruise. In fact, he says he didn’t know who East was until after police ID’d the rapper. He was treated for a laceration above his left eye.

East, who released his Karma 2 mixtape in July, was charged and released. He is due back in court in December.
