Video: Machine Gun Kelly – ‘Lately’

In between beefing with the “big bad bully of the rap game,” Eminem, Machine Gun Kelly confronts his own demons in the video for “Lately” off his BINGE EP.

The “Rap Devil” reveals a dark past in the trippy clip, which he shot himself on a plane and in his hotel room. He reflects on painful times from his childhood including being abandoned by his mother when he was nine years old (“What you think that type of shit do to your soul?”) and someone trying to take his life.

“Lately I’ve been having crazy thoughts / The way I’m living, shit get crazy dark,” he raps on the somber song.

“Lately” is one of nine tracks off MGK’s BINGE EP. He is currently opening for Fall Out Boy on the group’s “Mania Tour,” which runs through Oct. 10 in New Orleans.

Cardi B Joins Pardison Fontaine on New Single ‘Backin’ It Up’

Pardison Fontaine has been making a name for himself behind the scenes, and now he steps back to the mic.

The Bronx rapper-songwriter, also known as Jordan Thorpe, is a longtime collaborator of Cardi B. The two have worked together throughout the years, and Fontaine contributed to her debut album Invasion of Privacy, including hits “Bodak Yellow” and “Be Careful.”

Pardison, who also wrote for Kanye West’s ye, teams up with Cardi on “Backin’ It Up,” his debut single for Atlantic Records. In the video, Kulture’s mom switches up her look, rocking red, blonde, and black wigs while spitting some tough rhymes.

“I’m the queen of talkin’ shit, then I’m backin’ it up,” she declares.

Cardi also throws in some subliminal shots following her feud with Nicki Minaj. “Why don’t you chill with the beef and get some chicken instead?” she raps. “Got the crown, shut it down / Had it hype up in the Six / Is she dead, let her lay / Won’t bring no life into this bitch.”

The track is the first offering from Pardison’s major label debut EP, due later this year. “It’s more of an introduction,” says Pardison. “I’m catching up fans who have known about me for a long time and introducing myself as an artist to new audiences.”

Video: Young Thug feat. Gunna – ‘Dirty Shoes’

Young Thug dusts off his “Dirty Shoes” in the video for his collaboration with Gunna.

The trippy clip finds Jeffrey surrounded by models, smoke, and mirrors. While the fashionable MC dons a skirt and Off-White jacket, a storm rolls in. It thunders and rains before he’s gone, leaving only a pair of smoking shoes.

“Dirty Shoes” appears on last month’s Slime Language, the debut compilation from Young Stoner Life Records, which also features appearances from Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Baby, Jacquees, and Tracy T.

Thug, who recently turned himself in to Georgia authorities after a felony warrant was issued for his arrest, is currently on J. Cole’s “KOD Tour.” He is also teasing a mysterious new project called On the Run. He posted the cover art showing names of potential collaborators including Elton John, Jaden Smith, 6LACK, and T-Shyne.

Video: 2 Chainz feat. Drake & Quavo – ‘Bigger Than You’

Baller alert! 2 Chainz is too cool for school in the video for “Bigger Than You.”

Directed by Nathan R. Smith, the cinematic clip finds 2 Chainz and his crew back in high school. Child actors take on the roles of 2 Chainz, Drake, Quavo, and Murda Beatz as they sit in detention and cause mischief. Dripping in a fur, shades, and head scarf, the young Drench God and friends take over the library, terrorize their teachers, and throw a party in the halls.

The newly-married 2 Chainz is now readying his fifth studio album Rap or Go to the League for release later this year. “It’s my version of black excellence,” he explained. “In my culture, my community, [it was] one of the things that we were often told was the only way we could get out of the circumstances we were put in…[was to Rap or Go to the League].”

Take it back with Tity Boi.

Video: Wiz Khalifa feat. Lil Skies – ‘Fr Fr’

Supermarket sweep. Wiz Khalifa and Lil Skies take over a grocery store in the wild video for “Fr Fr.”

The Taylor Gang boss plays a grocery store clerk at Fr Fr Groceries in the Cole Bennett-directed visual. When he’s not bagging groceries, Wiz gets high before meeting up with Skies in the meat department. While women remove their tops and twerk, Skies leads a mosh pit in the aisle before the store manager shows up (and gets pasta sauce throw on him). The duo also transforms into action figures and household products throughout the clip.

Earlier this summer, Wiz and Skies toured together on the “Dazed & Blazed Summer 2018 Amphitheater Tour” with Rae Sremmurd.

“Fr Fr” is the latest single off Wiz’s Rolling Papers 2 following “Hopeless Romantic” with Swae Lee, for which a video was released last month.

Video: Ella Mai – ‘Trip’

After scoring her first top 10 hit with “Boo’d Up,” Ella Mai follows it up with her latest Mustard-produced single “Trip,” which gets a sultry video.

The British singer-songwriter sets the mood with candles and a burning fireplace before putting her record on. She then creeps out late at night, parking outside her man’s house and hitting a basketball court, while reflecting on his love.

“Maybe it’s your love, it’s too good to be true,” she sings on the remorseful R&B jam. “Baby boy, your love, got me trippin’ on you / You know your love is big enough, make me trip up on you.”

“Trip,” which is currently No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100, is a single off Ella’s debut album, due this fall.

Her big year continues. After selling out her first U.S. headlining tour, Ella will join Bruno Mars on his “24K Magic World Tour,” which kicks off at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Oct. 4. She is also nominated for two American Music Awards, including Favorite Female Artist — Soul/R&B and Favorite Song — Soul/R&B for “Boo’d Up.”

Tyga Drops 2 New Singles, ‘Dip’ and ‘Swap Meet’

Can’t stop, won’t stop. Following his hits “Taste” and “Swish,” Tyga keeps his hot streak going with a pair of new slappers, “Dip” and “Swap Meet.”

“Dip,” produced by D.A. Doman, finds T-Raww boasting about his player lifestyle and his “Black Barbie” (“She into ménages”). “Can you make it dip?” he asks over the twerk-ready track, which features a string arrangement.

“Swap Meet” is another strip club anthem dedicated to all the women in Tyga’s life. In the accompanying video, King Gold Chains showcases his bachelor lifestyle with a revolving door of ladies. He makes it rain at the strip club and takes his girls shopping for bikinis. He also plays Santa Claus as his naughty co-stars line up to take a picture in his lap.

“My bitches love me, yeah / They get my everyday, except the holidays,” he raps over the clapping instrumental.

Meanwhile, Tyga’s Offset-assisted hit “Taste” has been certified double platinum and remains in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is also the No. 1 record at Urban and Rhythmic radio.
