Big Sean Previews New Music

Big Sean is back in beast mode.

In honor of his 31st birthday, the Detroit rapper returned to social media on Monday (Mar. 25), where he opened up about his struggle with mental health over the past year. He also revealed that he’s been in the studio “making the best music of my life.”

Later in the day, he offered a sneak peek of what’s to come. Sitting in the studio, he previewed a minute of a Key Wane-produced track, which finds Sean digging deep and speaking his truth.

“Lil bitch, please, don’t act like my friend, be my friend,” he raps in the clip. “My mama said don’t act like a man, be a man / Quit goin’ overboard, I think it’s finally sinkin’ in.”

In addition to rapping about “investing in restaurants with Hov,” he addresses his recent therapy sessions. “I need therapy too / Someone to care for me too / Someone who there for me to the point when they not there, it still feel like they there for me too.”

After taking some time to “rediscover” himself, Sean is now readying a new project, his first since 2017’s I Decided and Double or Nothing, his collaborative album with Metro Boomin.
