Music mogul Damon “Dame” Dash is giving Gucci a chance to prove it’s on a path to right its wrongs. The hip-hop executive hit up social media this week to react to the controversial high-end brand launching a new multi-million dollar initiative aimed at the black community.
Dame hit up Instagram with his thoughts and credited Gucci for making a change in the right direction.

According to reports, the company’s new initiative launched following a recent sit-down with Gucci affiliate and iconic black designer Dapper Dan.
The program includes three separate tiers: the Gucci Changemakers Fund, a scholarship program, and a company-wide volunteering initiative. All three programs are meant to foster racial diversity in both the company and the fashion industry as a whole. The changes come after Harlem couturier Dapper Dan (who has an ongoing collaboration with the brand) met with Gucci’s CEO and President Marco Bizzarri to voice his concerns. (Harper’s Bazaar)
