New York rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine‘s now-infamous near-death shooting is costing Universal Music Group serious guap. new reports claim the attack has now become a serious setback for his record label.

According to reports, UMG dropped nearly $500,000 for the video shoot and now production on the filming has abruptly stopped.

Sources tell TMZ … Universal Music Group spent upwards of $480k to fund the video shoot that was supposed to feature Nicki Minaj and Kanye West … before bullets shattered glass in the mansion and things then came to a screeching halt. It also looks like UMG might be eating this one — we’re told there are zero plans to reschedule or reshoot. (TMZ)

A few days ago, rap star 50 Cent reacted to the near-death shooting.

The same day, reports emerged about the attack happening at Tek’s rented Beverly Hills mansion with Kanye West present but Nicki Minaj not yet there.

Cops say at 10:25 PM they got a “shots fired” call and raced to the home. Someone on set tells us there were approximately 8 shots fired. No one was hit. It appeared to be a drive-by. At least one bullet went through a bedroom window. We are told Kanye was there but Nicki had not arrived. Kanye immediately left. We’re told production was halted and the crew was shaken up. (TMZ)

On Thursday, buzz developed about the trio linking up for a secret music video shoot.

6ix9ine is rolling around Los Angeles with some pretty heavy security, and we’ve learned he’s actually on his way to shoot a music video with Kanye West and Nicki Minaj. Sources close to production tell us Tekashi, Ye and Minaj will be meeting Thursday in Los Angeles. The concept and song for the video is currently unclear, but we’re told everyone is stoked that all three hip-hop stars will be united. (The Blast)
