YBN Almighty Jay is recovering following a brutal attack over the weekend.
The 19-year-old rapper was hospitalized and treated for injuries resulting from a street fight on Friday, which was followed by a separate attack and robbery later in the night.
According to TMZ, Jay was jumped by several men in the lobby of a residential building in Manhattan around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. After attempting to flee, he was stomped on and his chains were snatched.
He was also stabbed several times and suffered head and facial injuries after someone cracked a Hennessy bottle over his head. His face was so badly hurt that he reportedly had to get 300 stitches.
Jay initially reported the incident to law enforcement but became uncooperative when police tried to interview him. Most of the witnesses on the scene also refused to speak to cops.
His alleged attackers, including Zae Numbafive, have been flaunting the rapper’s stolen Rap-A-Lot Records chain, or one that resembles it, in a clip for his “Traumatized” video, which has since been deleted. They also took to social media to show off YBN’s stolen items including his shoes and ID.
Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J Prince has weighed in and called on his “mob ties” to track down those responsible for the attack. “There’s A Clown By The Name Of Zae And His Crew Who Want To Become Famous By Bragging About Robbing Rap Industry Niggas. They Recently Bragged About Robbing The Artist YBN Almighty Jay Whom I’m Invested In,” he said. “This Is A Perfect Opportunity To Execute Our Unity Where We Don’t Allow Moment Thinkers To Muddy The Water Over The Movement. With That Being Said To The Homies In The Bronx If Any Of These Clowns Are Yall’s Family Or Friends Speak Now So We Can Get An Understanding. To Ignore This Is A Recipe For Disaster.”
Zae responded to J Prince, denying his involvement in Jay’s assault. “Me and the ppl I was with did not cut I repeat did not cut YBN Almighty Jay,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “We didn’t take his Rap A Lot chain either. I don’t know how he got cut, dont wish that on nobody and IDK why people callin us goons tryna label us ya don’t know the real story!”
