Usher Teases ‘Confessions 2’

It’s been 15 years since Usher released his seminal album Confessions, but a sequel may be in the works.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (Mar. 27), the R&B superstar shared a photo of himself in the studio sitting next to a whiteboard that reads “Confessions 2” and a tracklisting. There appear to be song titles, but they are blurred out.

“Dis what yall want…” he captioned the photo.

It appears that Usher may be answering fans’ prayers for a second installment of Confessions. He previously shared a photo of himself in the studio with longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri, who produced the original Confessions.

J.D. will be involved once again. Earlier this week, the Atlanta producer and Usher went on Instagram Live to preview a brand new song called “Believe” that may appear on the project. “I wanted to believe / I wanted us to make it, baby,” Usher sings in the clip.

Released in March 2004, Confessions sold 1.1 million copies in its first week and won a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album. According to Billboard, it went on to become the second-best selling album of the 2000s, spawning hits like “Yeah!” and “Burn.”

Usher hasn’t released a full project since 2016’s Hard II Love. In honor of his 40th birthday last year, he dropped A, his collaborative project with Zaytoven.
