The Weeknd Flames Drake Over Hiding Secret Son In New Song?

The Weeknd

Canadian singer The Weeknd has fans scratching their heads. The crooner has appeared to come at longtime pal Drake‘s head on his new “Lost In The Fire” song.

On the must-hear record, Weeknd appears to go at Drizzy over his secret son Adonis.

In the first verse of ‘Lost In The Fire’, The Weeknd appears to take a dig at Drake for famously keeping his son Adonis a secret, until Pusha T famously exposed him. “And I just want a baby with the right one / ‘Cause I could never be the one to hide one,” he says. It wasn’t long before fans took to Twitter to discuss the obvious diss. (Capital Xtra)

Over the past few hours, social media has reacted to Weeknd’s alleged disses.

Some music fans have debated on whether or not Weeknd really went in-in on the 6 God.

The lyric looks to be in reference to Pusha T’s exposé last year during his much publicized beef with the Toronto superstar. Why Abel chose to deliver a lyric like this which comes across as shots at the fellow Canadian at this point is unclear as the two have been buddies again since 2017 after a brief period of tension. Some fans think The Weeknd says “hurt” and not “hide” since it’s the former mentioned on Apple Music’s lyrics but Genius’ version referring to the latter are “verified” by The Weeknd himself. On his recently released Scorpion album, Drake finally came clean about his secret child.

The 31-year-old rapper confirmed the long-rumored news that he fathered a child with French former adult-film star Sophie Brussaux on his new double album Scorpion, which was released just before midnight Thursday on Apple Music. In his track “Emotionless”, which samples Mariah Carey, the Canadian declares “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world/I was hiding the world from my kid.” (People)

On the song “March 14,” Drake dug deep into his personal life and reflects on becoming a dad.

“Yesterday mornin’ was crazy/I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe/That sh*t is in stone/Sealed and signed/She’s not my lover like Billie Jean/But the kid is mine/Sadie used to tell me all it takes is one time/And all it took was one time/Sh*t, we only met two times, two times/And both times were nothin’ like the new times/Now it’s rough times/I’m out here on front lines/Just tryna make sure that I see him sometimes.” (“March 14”)
