‘The Simpsons’ Writer Leans into Predictions Jokes After 1993 Episode Predicts Pandemic and Killer Bees

The Simpsons have done it again! After predicting Trump as President and numerous other moments in the history of the world, the animated classic got it right again.

A clip from an episode in 1993, “Marge in Chains,” shows character Dr. Hibbert telling citizens there is no cure for a disease during a pandemic. That disease originated in Asia. Sounds familiar right? So what happens next? Well, the citizens of Springfield go shake a nearby truck looking for placebos, not understanding that wouldn’t do anything for them, and find a box of killer bees breaking open causing more hysteria. Sounds familiar again? Yeah, cause news reports are talking about “murder hornets” currently hitting America.

Can’t make this up.

So, Bill Oakley, a former writer for the adult cartoon, hit the timeline and jokingly fesses up to the predictions:

It’s all a huge coincidence but the humor keeps is going in these uncertain times.

Soulja Boy Puts Himself In Bart’s Shoes: “Big Draco Joins The Simpsons”

Soulja Boy

Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy is shooting his shot at Fox. The hip-hop star has imagined himself in long-running popular animated series “The Simpsons.”

SB hit up Instagram Friday with a pic of himself in the “Simpsons” universe.

Last weekend, SB hit up IG and joked about landing a multi-million dollar deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

A few hours after his headline-generating arrest on a probation violation, cops released Big Draco.

He was released just after noon PST, according to the LASD website. Later Friday, the rapper posted a profanity-laced live Instagram video to update his fans. “Yeah, I’m out… I just got out of jail right now and I’m performing at the Clippers game,” he said, while sitting in the passenger seat of a car. “Tell you, this (expletive) ain’t going to start… I had the biggest comeback of 2018 and they try to lock me up, they try to hate on me…I’m the hottest rapper in the game.” (USA Today)

Last week, reports went viral about SB landing in handcuffs for a probation violation.

Soulja went to see his probation officer Friday morning in the San Fernando Valley, and when he showed up he was cuffed and taken to jail. Soulja is currently on probation and the offenses go back 8 years … when he was convicted of weapons violations. In 2016, while he was on probation, cops descended on his home after the rapper threatened people online. During their search, cops found at least one weapon, which was a violation of Soulja’s probation. (TMZ)

Michael Jackson Live On Stage

The long-running animated series The Simpsons has a number of classic episodes that fans have flocked to over the years, including one that included the vocal talents of Michael Jackson. The show has decided to pull the episode from future reruns due to the allegations raised in the recently aired Leaving Neverland documentary.

The Blast reports:

Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, James L. Brooks said of the decision, “It feels clearly like the only choice to make.”

He added, “I’m against book burning of any kind. But this is our book, and we’re allowed to take out a chapter.”

The episode aired on September 19, 1991 and is generally considered to be one of the most memorable in the show’s legendary run. Jackson voiced Leon Kompowsky but was not credited at the time due to contractual reasons.

Jackson’s character was a large white man who was a patient at a mental hospital who believed he was Michael Jackson.

The Simpsons takedown is just the latest in a series of entities distancing themselves from the late singer.
