Insane Clown Posse Returns to Their Original Sound on The 6th & Final Joker’s Card of the 2nd Deck “The Naught” (Album Review)

Detroit horrorcore duo, Juggalo Championship Wrestling founders & the longest reigning 2-time JCW World Juggalo Tag Team Champions Insane Clown Posse have officially unveiled their 17th studio LP & the final Joker’s Card of the 2nd Deck. Consisting of JCW Commissioner Violent J & the shortest reigning JCW World Juggalo Heavyweight Champion Shaggy 2 Dope, many don’t know that 3 other members came & went during the first 5 years of the group’s inception. Not only would The Duke of the Wicked & the Southside Strangla go on to create seminal wicked shit albums like The First 6, they also gained an extremely loyal fanbase in the process & their self-owned Psychopathic Records became an independent hip hop powerhouse as the label’s roster continued to grow until they wanted to focus more on their own legacy. Commemorating the 25th annual Gathering of the Juggalos or the Gathering of Legends kicking off tomorrow & The 2 Day War between JCW & Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) beginning later this weekend, The Naught will explore the afterlife in a concept differing from The Wraith’s exhibitions of Shangri-La & Hell’s Pit.

The title track produced by Shaggytheairhead after the intro opens with a trap song breaking down the titular character’s meaning whereas “Watch Me” reunites with longtime collaborator Mike E. Clark talking about the wicked shit splitting your shit up throwing it back to the Bang! Pow! Boom! & The Mighty Death Pop! days instrumentally. “Everybody Dies” moves forward with a 6-minute rap rock-influenced Violent J solo cut making the point that we’re all gonna meet our demise one day just before the semi-boom bap influenced “Happy Fun Day” uses wordplay for the Duke to ask what exactly others find wrong with him in having bloody fun.

“Only Wicked Shit” goes for an EDM trap direction thanks to Brian Kuma so both of the clowns can represent their style of music they’ve been making for over 3 decades & after the “Flashback” skit, “Dead Kelly” blends these bells & hi-hats together to tell the story of the titular character. Shaggy 2 Dope getting his own track with the carnivalesque “Here We Go” looking to tear the place down alongside the rest of his hatchet family while the playfully humorous “Cinnamon Pigtails” describes a tale of Violent J meeting a woman on Instagram who turned out to be a catfish.

Devereaux helps ICP dabble with trap metal on “I’m Still Breathin’” talking about their gratitude of being alive despite the chaos in the world while “Pop Out” continues the 2nd half of The Naught with another 2 Dope solo joint that DJ Clay makes more trap oriented than the last one angrily making the speakers jump while the disco rap-inspired “Throw ‘Em Up” after another “Flashback” skit talks about throwing your hatchets up. Violent J descriptively airs out his grievances towards a “Softy Pillow Man” using a prominent tuba within the beat leading into the occult “I’m Fallin’” talking about them thinking no one should try to die.

Expressing some kind of resolution from the conflict inferred from the rest of The Naught, the iconic Toto single “Africa” gets heavily sampled throughout “While It Lasts” ending the 2nd Deck of Joker’s Cards structured similarly to “Low” off Fearless Fred Fury where the Duke’s singing during a good bulk of it & Shaggy drops off a brief rap verse. Wasn’t one of my favorite songs off FFF personally but “While It Lasts” is conceptually stronger than “Low”, basically talking about enjoying the time we all have on this planet.

Common complaints regarding Yum Yum Bedlam from what I’ve heard amongst juggalos is that it felt like a mixtape than a Joker’s Card or the producer tags, neither of which I had any issues with personally because I appreciated it being the first female character in the Dark Carnival mythology & it’s themes of loyalty. The Naught however has to be my 3rd favorite Card of the 2nd Deck, with #2 being Bang! Pow! Boom! & of course The Mighty Death Pop! at #1. The production feels like a throwback to the carnival sound even with Kuma & Mythic Mindz finishing the 71% that Mike E. Clark had yet to complete because of him moving & the clowns themselves answering the question of if one was ever alive at all if there’s no afterlife when we die.

”Chlorine” Goes to Show Ouija Macc Will Always Be a Scrub No Matter How Clean He Gets (Album Review)

In front of us is the 7th studio LP from Las Vegas, Nevada emcee Ouija Macc. Breaking out in the fall of 2017 after the Insane Clown Posse signed him to Psychopathic Records shortly after putting out his debut EP Trashfire independently, Ouija has since proven himself as the hatchet’s biggest solo act dropping his last 5 full-lengths, 2 greatest hits compilations, 8 mixtapes & 5 EPs all in the span of nearly 7 years. He even started his own label Chapter 17 Records, with Darby O’Trill is now the only C17 artist other than Ouija & teaming up with each other 13 month ago for the excellent collab effort Anemoia building up for Darcc Planet to become the darccest material of his career. 3 months after Psycho Babbel, we entered the Temple of Ash & are now leaving so he can drop Chlorine on us in the midst of him opening during ICP’s tour set to end this weekend alongside Wakko the Kid following tapings of the hit Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW) webseries JCW Lunacy.

“Creepy Crawler” starts off with a hellish trap intro produced by Devereaux talking about crawling up on ‘em & stacking up his commas whereas “Miyazaki” pulls from the Memphis scene taking it’s name after the revered スタジオジブリ founder 宮崎 駿. “WICC17 SH17” makes a phat homage to the style of music he’s widely known for & putting a modern appeal to it for a newer generation of juggalos while “Lil’ Nitemare” walks down the wrong path deviated by demons.

Meanwhile on “Loonatic”, we have Ouija bringing the presence of a wicked clown right in front of you over a cloudy trap instrumental until the ghostly “Never That” talks about running with the pack to the money & never looking back. “House of 1,000 Doors” gets in his storytelling bag portraying himself as a game show host named after Rob Zombie’s classic directional debut House of 1,000 Corpses until “Mr. Fat Balls” drearily talks about being fed up with the bullshit lies.

“Klepto” breaks down his skitzophrenic tendencies on the verge of stealing shit over some pots, pans & hi-hats while the chilling “Up It Up” entertainingly throws in bar introducing a new nickname for himself blending his moniker with the name of current Monday Night RAW commentator, occasional WWE in-ring performer, ESPN’s College GameDay analyst, host of The Pat McAfee Show on ESPN & former Indianapolis Colts kicker Pat McAfee.

Moving on from there, “Toot Toot” samples “The Loons off ICP’s sophomore effort & the 2nd Joker’s Card Ringmaster going 117mph for the cash since he don’t fuck around when it comes to that while “Mean Muthafucka” shows an angrier side to Ouija warning to get out his face unless you wanna see him crash out. “Databass” vividly portrays himself as a sex offender who preys for his victims on the internet, but then “Death Trap” featuring Apoc Krysis unloads 17 from the clip.

“Unda Unda” pulls inspiration from the Memphis hip hop scene more more blending that with horrorcore & trap talking about coming from the underground since Chapter 17/Psychopathic’s whole sound has appealed to that demographic of hip hop culture birthing it’s own subculture in the process & “Would It Be Alright” finishes Chlorine with a trap metal/emo rap hybrid asking if it’s ok if he dies here tonight.

Ouija’s been calling this the best thing he’s ever made for the past month now & I can’t really argue with it because of the the whole concept revolving around him always being a scrub no matter how clean. Devereaux handles most of the production showing influences of trap, horrorcore, cloud rap, trap metal, emo rap & Memphis hip hop backing the C17 CEO’s call for a juggalo takeover.

Although Yesterday’s Vegas Tapings of “JCW Lunacy” Was Cancelled, John Cena Still Walks Out of WrestleMania XLI with Him 17in’

Early this Friday morning, I posted a write up about Psychopathic Records founders the Insane Clown Posse’s independent professional wrestling circuit promotion Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW) putting together a taping of their increasingly popular YouTube webseries JCW Lunacy in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was later come to my attention during the weekend that the tapings had been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances beyond JCW Commissioner Violent J’s control. However, John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to become a 17-time WWE world champion earlier tonight to close out WrestleMania XLI. Why do I bring this up, one might ask? Well, lemme school you on it. In juggalo culture lore: the number 17 is quite important since that was the amount of copies ICP’s full-length 1992 studio debut album & the first ever Joker’s Card in the Dark Carnival mythology Carnival of Carnage initially sold. The shortest winning JCW World Juggalo Heavyweight Champion Shaggy 2 Dope’s late older brother John Kickjazz would later be replaced by Greez-E for my personal favorite sideshow EP Beverly Kills 50187 & became the 2 wicked clowns we’ve become to know them as today. 1 final noteworthy mention is the honorary WWE Hardcore Champion Travis Scott fresh off him headlining what’s quite possibly the biggest music festival in the world Coachella was able to hold his title up with the newly-crowned Cena shortly after ending Cody’s refreshing 1-year run that followed Roman Reigns’ historic 1,316 day reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. At the end of the day, hip hop & professional wrestling both win together.

Westside Gunn & Violent J of the Insane Clown Posse Take Over Vegas During WrestleMania Weekend with 4th Rope & JCW

One might remember that Griselda mastermind Westside Gunn announced his newly formed independent professional wrestling circuit promotion 4th Rope was doing a show with the greatest deathmatch in recent memory Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) called For the Culture this Friday evening & West has said this’ll be his biggest card to date. He certainly wasn’t lying because the bouts include:

Former AAA Mundial Parejas Campeon, WWE United States Champion & the most random WWE Champion ever Raj Dhesi taking on the current HoG Heavyweight Champion Mike Santana in a non-title match.

4th Rope original Alexis Littlefoot & the current TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich facing Hollywood Haley J & Vix Crow in women’s tag team competition.

A 20-man Battle Royale to determine the inaugural 4th Rope Flyweight Champion.

The current MLW World Heavyweight Champion Matt Riddle facing former 新日本プロレス STRONG無差別級王座 & 新日本プロレス STRONG無差別級王座 Gabe Kidd in more non-title singles action.

The inaugural 4th Rope World Tag Team Champions & current TNA World Tag Team champions in their 3rd reign The Hardy Boyz issuing an open challenge for their 4th Rope tag titles.

Former TNA X Division Champion Mustafa Ali battling it out with Leon Slater and former ΩCW Heavyweight Champion, PWG World Tag Team Champion, 3-time TNA X Division Champion, TNA World Tag Team Champion & NXT North American Champion Trevor Lee in a 3-way match.

Tiara James & Maya World in women’s singles competition.

Shane Taylor Promotions sub-unit The Infantry of AEW & ROH going to war with Culture Inc. in a Las Vegas Street Fight.

Finally, the main event will be the inaugural 4th Rope Heavyweight Champion Zilla Fatu currently holding the HoG Crown Jewel Championship & now a 2-time RoW Heavyweight Champion putting his 4th Rope Championship on the line against former JCW World Juggalo Heavyweight Champion Joshua Bishop in a steel cage. And that brings me to Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW).

The Insane Clown Posse are no strangers to wrestling since they’ve appeared in ECW, WWE, WCW, ROH & TNA in addition to their own promotion JCW celebrating it’s 25-year anniversary this past holiday season. Their webshow JCW Lunacy on the Psychopathic Records official YouTube Channel has been becoming increasingly popular since last summer, with a taping of JCW Lunacy & an afterparty featuring a solo set from JCW Commissioner Violent J scheduled to take place immediately after Night 1 of WrestleMania XLI. Talent scheduled to appear are the current JCW World Juggalo Heavyweight Champion in his 2nd reign Willie Mack, the current JCW World Juggalo Tag Team Champions in their 2nd reign The Brothers of Funstruction, the inaugural JCW American Champion Caleb Konley, the inaugural JCW Women’s Champion Dani Mo, her Neon Blondes mixed tag team partner Facade & the inaugural JCW Battle Royal Champion in WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Morton. It should also be mentioned that JCW & GCW will be doing a 2-day PPV event this summer at the 25th annual Gathering of the Juggalos or the Gathering of Legends. As a wrestling fan & a hip hop head, it’s great to see both these worlds still colliding.

”Problem Children 2” Elevates Ouija Macc & Ricky Hil’s Chemistry (Album Review)

This is the 2nd collaborative album between Las Vegas, Nevada emcee Ouija Macc as well as New York recording artist Ricky Hil. The latter of whom came up in 2009 in the cloud/emo rap scenes & the other is the CEO of the Psychopathic Records subsidiary Chapter 17 Records who has been the only other current artist on the label that runs beneath the streets other than the Insane Clown Posse themselves for pretty much the current decade. Ricky recently got a shoutout on the highlight “Olympian” off Playboi Carti’s 3rd album MUSIC last month & is linking up with Ouija again for a sequel to Problem Children.

The title track produced by Devereaux starts with both of them giving middle fingers to everyone & spraying the walls with blood over a guitar-trap instrumental whereas “Upside Down” takes a cloudier route thanks to former Good Charlotte guitarist Billy Martin with Ouija giving props to Psychopathic Don & the wicked clowns’ manager Billy Bill for giving him game. “‘Till I Die” finds the pair talking about staying until the day where they take their last breaths while “Fucc ‘Em Up” fuses hardcore hip hop & trap thanks to 808 Mafia co-founder Lex Luger.

SosMula formerly of the City Morgue joins both of the Problem Children on the “Tavernity Trinity” introducing a new underground supergroup over a trap metal beat leading into “Ginsu” talking about death knocking on their doors & them eventually answering it. “In Vein” brings a trap metal flare back in the fold so they can tackle themes of death just before the internal emo rap-tinged “To Feel” talks about having loneliness to fulfill in their lives.

“Crème Brûlée” boasts that the weed they’re smoking on is significantly sweeter than dessert itself prior to “Nightmare Boyz” talking about people sneak-dissin’ only for the simple reason because of them not being legitimate competition in either of their eyes whatsoever. “Pray 4 Me” finds both of them discussing having 0 sympathy for their enemies due to life itself being an entire tragedy, but then “Buffalo Sauce” showcases a fun back-&-forth chemistry.

As for “Gone in the Wind”, we have Ouija & Ricky talking about death calling ‘em again & it all being lights off in the end while “Low Battery Warning” suggests to enjoy your emptiness since it’ll be as good as it can get. “I’d Probably Rot” shows an emo rap influence again talking about having nothing while “Storm Come Rolling In” admits to pain swallowing them again. “Moon Through the Blinds of the Bando” finishes by stripping the drums with parts of them feeling like they’re in Hell’s Pit.

The eponymous introductory LP was a fun marriage between Ouija Macc’s horrorcore twist on the SoundCloud aesthetics & Ricky’s cloudy emo rap hybrids, returning after 3 years to take it up another level since Ouija has evolved so much artistically since the last time he teamed up with Ricky. Their respective styles all come back & mesh well together once again to take every redeemable quality of its predecessor to newer levels.

Insane Clown Posse Crowns WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Morton as the Inaugural JCW Battle Royale Champion

Coming off the Hella Pain & Diamond Rain this past weekend with performances from JCW Commissioner Violent J of the Insane Clown Posse & the CEO of the Psychopathic Records subsidiary Chapter 17 Records Ouija Macc, the Commissioner established the JCW Battle Royale Championship with the inaugural champion being decided this past Saturday evening. Tickets for the Gathering of Legends are now available, which is where the JCW vs. Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) pay-per-view will take place.
