Charlie Smarts, DJ Ill Digitz, & Brainorchestra Drop the SNDTRAK Remix of ‘Leaders of the New School’

New York-based duo Charlie Smarts & DJ Ill Digitz just dropped a remix to one of my favorite joints from their critically acclaimed album ‘CHARLIETAPE’.

The “Leaders Of The New School” remix is produced by Bay Area beat wizard SNDTRAK, and features a guest verse from Jersey MC/Producer Brainorchestra. The breezy SNDTRAK instrumental totally reimagines the track; giving Charlie & Digitz a smooth, laid-back canvas for their signature bars and cuts.

[WATCH] White Woman Attacks Black Woman And Plays Victim In NJ Victoria’s Secret

Screen Shot 2021 07 14 at 9.23.02 AM

A false cry for help by white women, which has been identified in popular culture in America to be performed by a “Karen”, has been the subject of several news stories, however, a Victoria’s Secret in Short Hills Mall in New Jersey was the site of one of the most disturbing Karen episodes yet.

Teacher’s aide Abigail Elphick was caught on film attempting to strike another Victoria’s Secret shopper, Ijeoma Ukenta, who is Black, while in line in the store. When Elphick realized she was being taped, her actions from being the aggressor instantly turned into her portraying herself as the victim. Elphick began to chase Ukenta around the store after throwing a tantrum and lying on the floor.

Ukenta has started a GoFundMe page in order to “defend myself against Karen”, which has raised close to $50,000.

ICYMI: 700 Pound George Floyd Statue Placed In New Jersey For Juneteenth

George Floyd Statue New Jersey

New Jersey commemorates George Floyd with a 700 pound bronze statue.

A statue of George Floyd was unveiled this week in front of Newark City Hall in New Jersey.  The 700 ound bronze statue honors the life of George Floyd, who was murdered in police custody last year. His widely viewed death was able to re charge and elevate the Black Lives Matter movement and has resulted in police reform measures across the country. According to reports, twenty-four states and the District of Columbia enacted legislation immediately following Floyd’s death. In a normal year, most states would have been out of session by May. But due to the pandemic, states were able to take up legislation working within COVID-19-related session delays, through multiple special session convenings or through bipartisan cooperation. Significant legislation has also been enacted in 23 states so far in 2021.

For instance in New Jersey, the use of force by an officer towards a civilian is now prohibited, unless used as a last resort. There also been the removal of Confederate statues from public parks and controversial names from organizations throughout the country. The New Jersey event honoring the life of George Floyd ties in with Juneteenth 2021.

“The artwork honors the life of George Floyd, an African-American man who was brutally murdered by a white Minneapolis police officer,” the mayor’s office said in a statement. “Mr. Floyd’s death elevated the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement which has resulted in an international response, including protests, police reform measures, and the removal of Confederate statues from public parks and racist names from organizations.”

Kanye West Withdraws Petition to Appear On NJ Presidential Ballot

Kanye West Withdraws Petition to Appear On NJ Presidential Ballot

According to a report from the Associated Press, music mogul and long-shot presidential hopeful Kanye West was forced to withdraw from the New Jersey ballot.

An email thread between Administrative Law Judge Gail Cookson and what AP describes as “an unidentified person writing from a Kanye 2020 address” confirmed the withdrawal, further stating, “At this time, Kanye 2020 has no further option than to regrettably withdraw from New Jersey and cease further efforts to place Mr. West’s name on the New Jersey ballot.”

Critics have also claimed that some of the signatures on West’s petition were incomplete and “in some cases appeared written in very similar handwriting.”

West has had an eventful two months of campaigning, with people still murmuring about July’s South Carolina campaign speech, in which his wife Kim Kardashian pleaded for her husband to get help for his mental health issues just days later.

Yeezy declared his bid for the presidency on the 4h of July, but meanwhile still managed to release a few songs from his yet to be completed DONDA project.
