Mother of Lil Peep Claims Label Owes Over $4M After Son’s Death

LilPeepDocumentaryintheWorksbyOscar NominatedProducer

Liza Womack, mother of the late rapper, Lil Peep is claiming that her son’s music label owes her at least $4M and is refusing to pay up out of spite towards a wrongful death lawsuit that she filed back in October of 2019. The label, First Access Entertainment, disputed Womack’s claims saying that she is the reason for the delay in payment.

“FAE is trying to choke off her funds by denying her the royalty revenue that they know she’s owed,” said Womack’s attorney. “We believe that they’re woefully undercapitalized, we believe they have co-mingled the funds that are due to the estate, and we are very concerned that they’re going to squander that money away.”

Womack’s attorney, Paul A. Matiasic, claims that FAE “admitted” that they owe Lil Peep’s estate, following that the relationship between the label and Womack is  “dysfunctional” and in need of court intervention as the parties involved try to come to a solution.

“It’s not true that it’s dysfunctional,” said FAE’s lawyer, John W. Amberg. “It also is not true that FAE owes the estate over $4 million. That’s simply not true. That’s just an argument used to gain someone’s sympathy here.”

Lil Peep transitioned at the age of 21 following an accidental drug overdose caused by Fentanyl and Xanax.

Lil Peep’s Mother Suing Everyone For Rapper’s Death

Day N Night

Source: Scott Dudelson / Getty

Lil Peep passed away almost two years ago due to a drug overdose of fentanyl and Xanax. The rapper’s mother is now suing her late son’s management and touring company, claiming the entities and their reckless behavior are what caused his untimely death.

TMZ reports that on Monday (Oct. 7), Peep’s mother, Liza Womack, filed a lawsuit against First Access Entertainment. She alleges that starting in early 2017, at the start of The Peep Show tour, Peep’s handler were aware of excessive drug use and even encouraged their use.

Womack’s claims include that her song managers gifted him a bottle of pills during a group dinner, and that he was routinely hooked up with “Xanax, Ketamine and other drugs” while touring. She also says Peep wanted to quit the tour basically because of physical and emotional exhaustion but management insisted he continue.

Peep’s manager Belinda Mercer is particularly thrown under the bus, with Womack claiming she suggested the rapper take an excessive amount of Xanax so he could get sick and thus file an insurance claim to cover the cancellation of the show. Also. Womack claims Mercer had a sexual relationship with peep.

So much mess. Rest in power Lil Peep.

WATCH: The Tragic Tale of Lil Peep Is Previewed in the Trailer for His Documentary Film ‘Everybody’s Everything’

As the death of alternative rap sensation Lil Peep is still an unfortunate loss for the younger generation, it now looks like the late multi-genre musician will be honored with a special documentary that will arrive in theaters just a few days shy of his two-year death anniversary.

The film is titled Everybody’s Everything, and based off the initial trailer you can get a clear idea of why that moniker rings true. Directed by Sebastian Jones and Ramez Silyan, with executive production coming by way of Terrence Malick, it covers Peep’s life from a childhood where he was simply known as Gustav Elijah Åhr to his tragic last days as an in-demand and touring rock star. The moments that feature his mother, Liza Womack, are sure to be the most heartbreaking, but the project as a whole will more than likely be a hard watch for his most diehard fans. However, as reviews from the many critics that’ve already seen the film suggest, this will be one of those music docs that you’ll definitely want to check out.

Take a look at the trailer for Everybody’s Everything above, and expect the Lil Peep documentary to arrive on November 12. For ticket info, click here.

Lil Peep Documentary in the Works by Oscar-Nominated Producer

The Tree of Life director, Terrence Malick is executive producing a documentary about the short life of emo rap innovator, Lil Peep.

The New York Times published a feature on Wednesday about the forthcoming Come Over When You’re Sober Pt. 2 release. The feature includes interview from Makonnen, producer, Smokeasac, and Peep’s mom, Liza Womack and and briefly brushes on Malick’s doc.

There might be a soundtrack to go with the upcoming narrative about Peep’s life.

Malick is a companion of Peep’s family.

The well-researched Times piece for the most part centers around the items inside of Peep’s computer, which—after Lil Peep’s passing—was backed up by First Access Entertainment in London before Womack took it to an Apple store. One month from now, Come Over When You’re Sober Pt. 2, will be released and a lot of the content from the laptop will be included in the documentary.

“I really feel like Gus was guiding me the entire way through,” Smokeasac, who also helmed sessions for Pt. 1, said of next month’s sequel. “I talked to him all the time. … It’s almost like he knew subconsciously that people are going to hear this after he passed.”

Quavo Addresses Alleged Lil Peep Diss on “Big Bro”

Birthday Bash ATL The Pop Up Edition Concert

Source: Prince Williams / Getty

Just last week Quavo released his highly anticipated solo debut album Quavo Huncho and immediately upon it’s release rabbit eared fans began speculating that the Migos rapper was subliminally talking about deceased rapper Lil Peep on “Big Bro.”

The lyrics that caught the attention of many fans were as follows:

““Is you with me or against me? / I’m a OG now so you need me / Think you poppin’ Xanax bars, but it’s Fentanyl / Think you’re livin’ life like rockstars but you’re dead now.”

Naturally Lil Peep fans were upset about the lines and took to social media to voice their disgust over what they felt were disrespectful bars. Even Lil Peep’s producer Smokeasac felt a ways about Quavo’s lines and took to Twitter to call him out.

Feeling the pressure to speak on the situation, Quavo took to Twitter himself to not only deny that he was talking about the deceased rapper but also praise him as a “Rockstar” in his own right.

After releasing his statement, Smokeasac expressed his appreciation and love for Quavo for clearing up the situation.

Glad to see that Quavo wouldn’t go that low on anyone who isn’t around to defend themselves. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Quavo Addresses Lil Peep Controversy Over “Big Bro” Lyrics

Quavo is setting the record straight about any misinterpretations of the lyrics to his song “Big Bro.” The Atlanta rapper received backlash when people thought he was taking jabs at Lil Peep who died last year of a Fentanyl overdose. “Lil Peep Is A Legend A Real Rockstar,” Quavo tweeted on Monday. “N E V E R will speak on the deceased.”

The speculations escalated after Smokeasac, who frequently collaborated with Peep, brought attention to some of the song’s lyrics below:

Is you with me or against me? / I’m a OG now so you need me / Think you poppin’ Xanax bars, but it’s Fentanyl / (No-no bars, it’s Fentanyl) / Think you’re living life like rockstars but you’re dead now.

Quavo dismisses the idea that he tried to insult the rapper or anyone close to him. “RIP TO ANYBODY WHO LOST THERE LIFE TO DRUG ABUSE!” he wrote.

Quavo chose to show love to XXXTentacion in his tweet. Someone corrected him telling him that X was murdered in June and didn’t die from an overdose.

Quavo dropped his debut solo collection a week ago, with features from Drake, Travis Scott, Cardi B, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, and Madonna spread across 19 tracks. Presently we’re looking out for solo activities from Migos’ other two members, Offset and Takeoff.
