Why Is Kanye West’s Yeezy GAP Line Displayed In Trash Bags?

kanye west gap yeezy trash bags

Kanye West’s Yeezy GAP line is in stores but the clothing display has fans taken aback.  The clothes are being displayed in large eco-friendly trash bags rather than distributed and organized on hangers.

According to a GAP sales rep, the unorthodox clothing display decision was made at Ye’s request.  Although the collection isn’t available at all GAP stores, it is available at the Yeezy GAP online shop.

Cam Kirk & BACARDI Team Up to Launch the First Rum-Brand NFT

image 6483441

It was a no-brainer that BACARDÍ called on Cam Kirk to create its first NFT (non-refundable token). After all the renowned, Atlanta-based photographer has built a resume real enough for two millenniums.

He has worked with ATLiens such as Migos, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, T.I., and more, in addition to leading campaigns for Nike, Reebok and Beats By Dre, just to name a few.

Anything that Cam Kirk touches, turns to gold, while simultaneously redefining creative entrepreneurship and philanthropy in the process. His latest endeavor with BACARDÍ is no different.

“Cam was a natural choice,” says Lisa Pfenning, VP of BACARDÍ for North America. “He’s had an illustrious career…. and now, the NFT enables him to explore a new type of photographic medium in rum. There are clear synergies between our brand and Cam, formed by our shared desire to move people both physically and emotionally.”

The NFT launch embodies BACARDÍ’S “Do What Moves You” campaign, which launched back in 2018.

“The campaign is a driving force in each and every initiative that BACARDÍ creates,” says Pfenning.

The NFT, which will go on sale next month, will showcase BACARDÍ’s new Reserva Ocho Sherry Cask.

Fresh from his Clio Award-winning campaign with Reebok, starring himself, Cardi B and Shaq, the Maryland native recently celebrated the 4-year anniversary of “Cam Kirk Studios.”

With over 20 employees, the creative hub has produced platinum-certified album covers, notable brand campaigns and more. BACARDÍ’S first NFT was produced at “Cam Kirk Studios” as well. It has also served as a collaborative learning space for artists in the community.

Cam is intentional about philanthropic inclusion with each partnership.

“The goal is always to better the community around me,” he says. “This project is no different. The proceeds from this NFT will go directly to a partnership that BACARDÍ has with the NAACP, to support Black-owned community bars and restaurants. That’s the part that moves me the most.”

There could not be a better way to commemorate his 4th studio anniversary than by giving back.

Through his creativity and camera lens, Cam Kirk continues to impact lives with one capture at a time. The NFT will go on sale next month through a dedicated microsite for only two weeks. The recipient will also receive an autographed case of BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho Sherry Cask Finish.

[RECAP] Biggie’s Daughter T’Yanna Wallace Hosts Her First “Notoriouss” Fashion Show In Brooklyn

Even 23 years after the untimely death of “The Greatest Rapper Of All Time”, the “Notoriouss” legacy still lives on.

For more than two decades, the borough of Brooklyn has celebrated its fallen king Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace. On the radio, in the streets and even the clothing reflects the importance of Biggie Smalls to Hip Hop in general and Brooklyn in particular. Last night in the middle of Flatbush, Brooklyn, B.I.G.’s daughter T’Yanna Wallace hosted her very first Notoriouss fashion show at AXIS NYC.

T’Yanna and friends took over the spot as they turned the swank Church Avenue spot into a photographic runway. The DJ spun all Biggie classics from his humble beginnings all the way to his posthumous Life After Death LP. Lil’ Cease, Klepto, Nino and the other members of Junior Mafia showed up and showed out for their big brother’s baby girl and her exclusive clothing line.

Go to www.notoriouss.com for the latest fashions available online and the flagship store in Downtown Brooklyn, where you can always get the drip straight off the showroom floor!

[WATCH] Royce 5’9”, T.I and CyHi Tha Prynce Snap On Black Savage

Royce 5’9” has reinvented himself once again and straight snapped with his new video for Black Savage featuring Sy Ari Da Kid, White Gold, CyHi The Prynce & T.I. Beginning the video off with a quote from James Baldwin, Royce’s agenda is clear from the gate. “You have to decide who you are and force the world to deal with you, not with it’s idea of you.”

Spitting straight bars that teach, Royce’s level of lyricism steps up another notch as he continues to propel with each project.

Vulgar like Akinyele, focus like Dr. Sebi
We did it your way but now the culture is boppin’ to our Sinatra medley/
I’m limitless energy, they gimmicks and imagery
Kendrick, Cole and the Kennedys, lyrical Holy Trinity
General of the city, they into promoting silly beef

Straight out of black gangsta flick, the men appear in a glamorous private party adorned with a African choir. The men bring soul and bars back to hip hop on the melodic production. Sy Ari Da Kid kills the chorus while CyHi The Prince brings the delivery he’s known for.

‘Huh, they tryna take the soul out of soul
Niggas say I sold out, I never sold out a show’

And T.I. reaches back into his Troubleman persona to boast of his black greatness. Check out the video below!

Baby Bling! 50 Cent Copped a Diamond Chain for His Son’s 7th Birthday

It must be amazing to be a child of rap royalty.

50 Cent, one of Hip-Hop’s most successful acts in multiple fields, is passing on the gift of glam to his youngest son, Sire Jackson. For the 7th birthday of his pint-sized offspring, 50 went all out with diamond chain gift that clocked in at a whopping $50,000 USD according to The Blast.

The chain (seen above) is a classic nameplate, complete with “SIRE” spelled out in diamonds and encased in cherry red packaging. The young baller, who even has his own Instagram account, is frequently seen on 50’s highly-active page being the happy-go-lucky kid that is expected when your dad is a multimillionaire and a certified legend to the Hip-Hop community. Whether he’s flying out to who-knows-where on a private jet rocking a fur coat with pops (pictured), having lunch with mommy at the prestigious restaurant Harry Cipriani in NYC, or just lounging around the crib barefoot in some jammies that might cost more than most people’s rent, we’re just glad to see that Sire is enjoying life in his prime years of fun. Must be nice, kiddo!

What was the best birthday gift you ever got as a kid? Sound off with some of your stories over on our Facebook and Twitter!

The B.I.G. Debate: COOGI Is in Court With the NBA, BK Nets, Nike and New Era Over the Use of Biggie for Branding Purposes

Months after filing a lawsuit against the Brooklyn Nets and Nike earlier this year, COOGI is now on the defense in the ongoing Coogi Partners LLC v. NBA Properties Inc. et al case after being hit with claims that the brand has been improperly using The Notorious B.I.G. to promote its clothing and signature sweater designs.

This all started back in November of last year when the Nets officially unveiled its new 2018-2019 City Uniforms. The jerseys feature a design on the trimming that looks very similar to the classic knitted sweaters that Biggie famously rapped about on songs like “Big Poppa” and “One More Chance.” It’s these same brand references that reps for the NBA, Nike, New Era and the Nets are stating in court that COOGI doesn’t have rights to use to help boost sales for their current products. They argued in court that “COOGI’s claim that its purported trade dress is so famous that, as a matter of law, it merits the enhanced protection of such recognized famous trademarks like Apple and Google is frivolous” in hopes to get the case dismissed entirely.

The part where Biggie comes in is with the the defense’s claim that COOGI is not justified to use his name and likeness to boost its brand. The Australian brand hit them back with a counterargument that states, “Biggie became closely associated with COOGI sweaters because he wore them, was repeatedly photographed in them, and sang about COOGI itself in his songs,” continuing with, “Biggie voluntarily used his right of publicity both in photos and in songs to promote COOGI sweaters.” It’s for these reasons that COOGI says the brand “has every right to benefit from any and all resulting fame.”

So far, the court hasn’t made a decision as to whether or not they’ll be dismissing the case, and we’re honestly a little unsure ourselves as to who has rightful claim in this whole ordeal.

Let us know if you’re siding with COOGI or with the Brooklyn Nets, Nike, NBA and New Era by sounding off over on our Facebook and Twitter!
