[WATCH] Kendrick Lamar’s Fiery Diss Verse Sparks Debate on The Joe Budden Podcast

Joe Budden Reacts to Logic’s “It Was a Good Day” Cover

The hip-hop world is abuzz with chatter following Kendrick Lamar’s explosive guest verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s track “Like That,” which appears on their latest album, “WE DON’T TRUST YOU.” In this scorching verse, Kendrick takes aim at fellow rap heavyweights Drake and J. Cole, igniting a firestorm of controversy and debate within the industry.

For weeks, fans and critics alike have been dissecting Kendrick’s lyrics and speculating on the implications of his pointed jabs at Drake and J. Cole. The verse has prompted a fierce debate over which artist reigns supreme and where loyalties lie in the ever-competitive world of hip-hop.

One platform that has delved deep into the discourse surrounding Kendrick’s verse is The Joe Budden Podcast. In a recent episode of the popular program, host Joe Budden and his co-hosts engaged in a lengthy and impassioned discussion about the significance of Kendrick’s diss and its broader implications for the rap landscape.

Central to the conversation was the notion that Kendrick’s verse represents a departure from the perceived “fake” nature of hip-hop relationships, particularly between Drake and J. Cole. Budden emphasized the importance of authenticity in rap and applauded Kendrick for his willingness to “throw hands” and challenge the status quo.

Moreover, the podcasters delved into a detailed analysis of Kendrick’s bars on “Like That,” comparing them to verses from Drake and J. Cole’s respective tracks. By connecting the dots between the lyrics, they offered insights into what may have prompted Kendrick’s fiery response and speculated on the potential for retaliation from his rivals.

Notably, Joe Budden, who previously ranked J. Cole above Kendrick and Drake, expressed his excitement at seeing Kendrick step up to the challenge. While he maintains his admiration for Cole, Budden eagerly anticipates seeing Kendrick and Drake’s response to the gauntlet that has been thrown down.

The debate sparked by Kendrick’s verse underscores the competitive nature of hip-hop and the ongoing quest for supremacy among its top-tier artists. As fans await the next move from Drake and J. Cole, the industry is buzzing with anticipation over what promises to be an epic showdown on rap’s main stage.

In the end, regardless of where loyalties lie or who emerges victorious, one thing is certain: Kendrick Lamar’s bold declaration has reignited the competitive spirit of hip-hop and set the stage for an exhilarating battle of words and wit among rap’s elite.

Joe Budden Reveals Private DMs from Drake During New Podcast Episode

Joe Budden Reacts to Logic’s “It Was a Good Day” Cover

Joe Budden is back with episode 665 of his podcast, which is a reaction to an onslaught of disses and mentions from Drake and his team following criticism of the For All the Dogs album.

Budden details what being on the receiving end of a big moment on the Internet was like, and Drake DM’d him a voice note after he slandered his lifestyle.

“He jumps in my DMs,” Budden said, receiving the message during his girlfriend’s son’s birthday party. “I ain’t lying. He jumped right in my DMs, and I’m pacing around, smoking. He DMs me with a 55-second voice note. I can’t tell you what it said cause I didn’t listen to it. You gotta speak to me with love.”

JBP co-host Melyssa Ford asked if he wanted to play it on air, to which Budden replied no. “If I was one of these clout-chasing ass niggas that’s exactly what I would come in here and do. But I’m too thorough at my core and my soul. Protecting energy is a thing. Y’all don’t talk to me when I say favorable things any other time, don’t fucking talk to me now.”

He added, “The way y’all appear to feel about Hip-Hop media, who the fuck are y’all to think you should be granted the luxury of dishonesty.”

You can hear it from Budden below.

Joe Budden Reacts To ‘Podfather’ Shoutout In Abbot Elementary

Joe Budden Joins Patreon As Head of Creator Equity

Joe Budden is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in podcasting and has heavily impacted the landscape of the medium for years to come. In a new episode of Abbot Elementary, the “Podfather” was shouted out in a scene where one of the teachers, Mr. Hill, told one of his students that he had never heard of the “Pump It Up” rapper. The student then shows Mr. Hill a clip from the podcast full of bleeps, responding “Woah! I’m not sure how Mr. Budden’s mother would feel about that podcast.”

Joe Budden, who has expressed his love for the show in the past, was quite appreciative of the shoutout. In a post on Instagram, Budden shared the clip of his shoutout, along with a caption that read, “First of all y’all already know how i feel about @quintab and this show…….. secondly, thank you. 🙏🏾🔥#Abbottelementary #Podfather

Budden also responded to fans on Twitter who saw the shoutout as well. “Nah don’t gas me.. i love that show lol,” he Tweeted in response to a fan. “That’s [fire],” he said in a follow up tweet.

Budden’s manager Ian Schwartzman even commented on the shoutout in a post on Instagram. “Joe is a star. It’s ok to admit. We changed the game forever. Our little podcast. #abbottelementary,” Ian captioned his IG post.

Joe is surely to bring this up in the next episode of the JBP, air horns, gunshots, and everything.

Joe Budden Claims That 2Pac Would ‘End’ Biggie And Nas In A Verzuz Battle

Joe Budden Joins Patreon As Head of Creator Equity

Even over 2 decades since their untimely deaths, Biggie and Tupac still remain a point of conversation in the hip hop community. Many ask what would hip hop be like if Pac and Big were still alive, and the two are often compared to each other, with some who believe that Pac was a better rapper than Big, and others believing that Big was a better rapper than Pac.

However, in todays hip-hop world, all these questions are put to rest by way of a Verzuz battle. And while it hasn’t been done yet, and probably wont be done, a question on every hip-hop lover’s head is who would win in a Verzuz battle? Pac or Big?

Well, Joe Budden thinks the answer to that is 2Pac, and to him not only would he beat Biggie, but he would also beat Nas in a Verzuz as well. And its not even close.

“I don’t want to answer; they gonna say I’m hating on Nas” Budden said when asked by his co-hosts who he thinks would win between Pac and Nas in a Verzuz.

“Alright, now that y’all have progressed the conversation, I’ma say this and I’ma put my shoes on while I say it,” he said. “‘Cause y’all are right: I think ‘Pac would end Nas in a Verzuz. [‘Pac] would end Big in a Verzuz, bad.”

Budden then said that Pac’s four album run from 1993 to 1996 where he dropped Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.Z, Me Against The World, All Eyez On Me, and Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, alone would beat both Nas and Biggie’s discographies.

udden added that he thinks Pac would beat Biggie in a Verzuz because Biggie only has 2 albums and died too soon. “Big died too soon to play with ‘Pac,” he continued. “Ready to Die and Life After Death is not enough to [beat ‘Pac]. And ‘Pac got them same four albums I’m talking about? I just don’t know. I won’t disrespect Big like that — rest in peace to ‘Pac and Big – but the more I think about it…”

They then threw Jay-Z in the conversation and said that even though Jay would win because he has outlived Pac and has more features, it still wouldn’t be a walk in the park for him either.

You can watch the clip below.

Joe Budden Slams Adam22 For Posthumous Kevin Samuels Content

Joe Budden Joins Patreon As Head of Creator Equity

Kevin Samuel’s sudden death earlier this year was met with mixed reactions as some paid their respects to the controversial influencer while others celebrated his death. On the Joe Budden Podcast, Joe, Ice and Ish paid their respects to Samuels who actually guest starred on the podcast early last year.

Following his death, many social media outlets started to repost clips from Samuels’ IG lives, interviews, and YouTube content. No Jumper, a popular hip-hop media outlet based out of Los Angeles and run by Adam 22, started to upload clips of Samuels’ old content. Adam 22 recently guest starred on the Joe Budden Podcast where he was scolded by Budden for re-uploading Samuels’ content after his death.

While on the episode, Budden brought up the late men’s influencer, and Adam22 responded, “Rest in peace.” Budden then told the No Jumper host “i don’t like what you did after he died.”

Budden went on to call Adam22’s actions “disgusting” and the “nastiest performance I’ve ever seen.” Adam22 defended his postition saying that when someone dies, there’s a huge demand for that person’s content on social media.

What is your job as a content creator? Your job is to make content and get that content out to the people that want to see it,” Adam said. “Somebody dies, there’s a huge demand for that content, you re-upload it, people see it on their subscription feed, they click on it because this is a very talked-about thing,” Adam22 added.

Ish then asked Adam22 if the content he posted about Samuels was in a negative light. Joe jumped in and said “He didn’t slander his name, he just re-uploaded everything on Kevin Samuels in the moment that he died.” Adam22 then admitted to uploading content of Samuels as soon as his passing was confirmed.

Joe Budden Thinks New York Drill Music Will Be Over In 5 To 6 Years

Joe Budden Joins Patreon As Head of Creator Equity

Joe Budden doesn’t think the subgenre of Hip Hop, Drill Rap will live long with law enforcement blaming the New York sound as violence increases in the city.  During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden said the genre has already brought too much attention from authorities and they’re already trying to get rid of it, like New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

“You drill n*****s got the shortest of windows,” Budden stated. “That sh*t bout over. Y’all can go keep dancing with Eric Adams if you want. It’s over, buddy, in the next five, six years.”

Budden continued, “The writing is on the wall, and that’s government-issued writing. That’s not Joe. That’s government-issued writing. Don’t start hitting me, mad at me. I’m just telling you what I’m looking at.”

Back in April authorities used drill music videos to track down their subjects for arrests. The NYPD did a sweep, arresting over 20 alleged gang members in the Bronx. The police dubbed the investigation “Operation Drilly” and recovered 18 guns.

Several known rappers from the dill scene have had run-ins with the police like Kay Flock and Dougie B., while others have lost their lives.

ICYMI: Joe Budden Blasts ‘Fresh & Fit’ Podcast: “I See Why They Hate Some of You Having Microphones”

Joe Budden Blasts ‘Fresh & Fit’ Podcast: “I See Why They Hate Some of You Having Microphones”

When it comes to podcasting, Joe Budden for sure knows a thing or two. So when he calls the hosts of the Fresh & Fit podcast “too ignorant, inexperienced, insecure, fragile and weak” in regards to their latest controversial interview, there is a point to be made.

In case you missed the story, the Fresh & Fit podcast was the subject of social media slander earlier this week for mistreating their guest Asain Doll. During her appearance, one of the hosts, Myron Gaines, disrespectfully spoke to Asian Doll leading to her walking out on the episode.

Gaines was then dragged across social media for both his statements toward Asian Doll and also past remarks about how he did not find Black women attractive.

Seeing enough of the banter, Joe Budden offered some words toward the situation.

“Now i don’t normally do the ‘repost another pod’ thing because 1. i just don’t, & 2. some stuff just doesn’t deserve to be highlighted, but today I’ll make an exception..

I don’t know these 2 Doofs but they don’t get to do this. Too ignorant, inexperienced, insecure, fragile and weak for this stale gimmick to not be seen through. Black women are everything, ESPECIALLY beautiful!! Every kind of beautiful too, so to hear this?!? From them?!? Lol it’s laughable.. but it’s not.

Now i don’t normally do the ‘repost another pod’ thing because 1. i just don’t, & 2. some stuff just doesn’t deserve to be highlighted, but today I’ll make an exception,” Budden wrote. “I don’t know these 2 Doofs but they don’t get to do this. These Idiots know most podcasts can’t get off the ground or gain any traction without love OR hate from Black women. Both act as fuel. This is nothing more than a cheap, tasteless heave at a payday. The words don’t match the actions, if you hate them, do it without them. Skip the topic. Don’t have them as guests (you clearly don’t know how to host them). Don’t cater convo toward them. Say no to every dollar/view/like/download/subscription generated directly or indirectly by them, then I’ll believe you. This is just pure laziness (amongst other things). If you can’t find a funny/creative way to be inclusive or discuss dating then go back to the drawing board. I’ll skip the lecture on self hatred and just be glad they make is so easy to spot.

And lastly, yes… we love “Shaniqua” and “Buquiesha” (LaKanya is a personal favorite ☺)

i see why they hate some of you niggas having microphones!!! Smh”

Rory Issues Statement About Being Fired From the Joe Budden Podcast

'The Joe Budden Podcast' Set to Depart Spotify in Mid-September

Yesterday took a turn most fans of the Joe Budden Podcast weren’t necessarily expecting. After returning from their six-week hiatus from the show, JBP co-hosts Rory and Mal returned for two episodes, and on the latest episode on May 12th, both of the co-hosts were absent from their seats. During the episode, Joe aired out some scathing remarks about the two and then fired both of them from the podcast.

“Since Rory feels like he has so many options here, somehow he still feels like he’s running the show. He feels like he’s entitled to more,” Budden is heard saying in the clip. “Rory, you are in breach of your contract. And from this point forward, you are fired, and you are not welcome back.”

Later in the episode Joe said “Both of you were fired.” Even though it was followed by laughs, we’re pretty sure Mal wont be returning to the pod either if it continues.

While Mal and Rory kept quiet about their firing for most of the day, Rory would go ahead and issue a statement about his firing from the JBP.

“Mannn .. what an era,” tweeted Farrell. “Thank you to everyone that listened, supported, told their friends about us, bought a subscription, ticket, or merch .. any value starts & ends with y’all ..I’ll get to that messy shit soon but in the meantime I’m here to celebrate an amazing run!! Love.”

He then tweeted again, saying that his previous tweet sounded like Bow Wow’s “Thank You” record.
