A shooting took place near Drake’s home in Toronto yesterday (May 6), but luckily the rapper himself wasn’t hurt in the crazy incident as he hasn’t been in Toronto for quite some time.
According to TMZ, an unknown man was shot outside of Drake’s mansion near the intersection of Bayview Ave and Lawrence Ave around 2:09 a.m. local time Tuesday (May 7). While authorities have yet to release any information as to who the person is or whether it had anything to do with the Canadian superstar himself, the person injured is said to be in very serious condition as he was taken to a hospital following the shooting.
Per TMZ:
Cops say the suspect in question fled in a vehicle … although, there’s no official description available at this point. Police have taped off the area, and there are boots on the ground.
The shooting appears to be tied to Drake explicitly, as there’s video of officers on his actual property that are starting to float around via local media outlets. Many are already jumping to the conclusion that it may all be related to the very public beef that he’s in. Remember … Drake’s been ensnared in an ugly feud with Kendrick Lamar these past few weeks.
While most of the bad blood had stayed in music, there have been nasty allegations hurled on both sides — Drake has claimed Kendrick is a woman beater, and that one of his kids isn’t actually his. As for Kendrick … he’s made salacious accusations against Drake too.
Could it have been a crazy conspiracy theorist believing that Drake is involved in some wild pedophile ring and wanted to take matters into his own hands a la “Pizzagate”? Kendrick using Drake’s mansion dotted with sexual offender pins could’ve moved someone to take some boneheaded actions. But we’ll have to wait for authorities to explain the situation before actually knowing any motives behind the shooting.

Chance Perdomo, an actor who starred in Prime Video’s The Boys spinoff series Gen V, died over the weekend. Perdomo, who was Afro-Latino, also starred in a popular Netflix series as well.
Chance Perdomo was set to begin production on the second season of Gen V and was traveling via motorcycle towards Canada when the accident occurred on March 30 in upstate New York, according to a report from Deadline. The outlet added in an additional report that Perdomo was heading to Toronto ahead of a scheduled April 8 table read session for the series.
The family and representatives for Perdomo shared the following:
His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest. We ask you to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.
Perdomo starred as Andre Anderson on Gen V, which takes place in the same universe as The Boys and features several superpowered young adults wrestling with the weight of their powers. Perdomo also starred in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
“We can’t quite wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight,” a producer for the series shared in a statement.
Chance Perdomo was 27.

R. Kelly would probably be the last person most would expect to have an opinion on the legal issues Diddy is currently enduring, but the imprisoned singer has chimed in. During a recent Clubhouse chat, R. Kelly questioned the sex trafficking allegations Diddy is facing.
As seen on All Hip Hop, R. Kelly, 57, joined Wack 100 on Clubhouse and shared his views on the legal issues that the mogul, real name Sean Combs, is facing. In essence, Kelly stated bluntly that what’s happening to the Bad Boy Records honcho is nothing but falsehoods.
“The sh*t is crazy. Muthaf*ckas out there laughing and making comedian jokes and doing all the other sH*t on the radio and everything else, but they ass could be next,” Kelly is heard saying. “That’s what’s so f*cked up about it. They so stupid they don’t even realize the moves that’s going on.”
He added, “That’s why I don’t believe none of this sh*t. You could tell me about Puffy, you could about anybody in there. You could tell me on the news, the weather, the sky is blue, I’m not gonna believe the sh*t. ‘Cause I’m in it now, and I know what they did.”
It appears that Kelly is insinuating that the charges he’s currently serving time for and what Diddy is being accused of are part of some larger conspiracy to ruin the legacies and careers of the men.

Michelle Obama has always been passionate about ensuring kids eat quality and healthy meals and now she’s bringing that passion to Netflix.
According to the announcement, our forever First Lady is launching her new children’s show, “Waffles + Mochi,” to Netflix this spring and it stars a couple of adorable puppets — and one very familiar face–her’s. Sharing the news via an announcement via Instagram, Michelle Obama revealed that she will be prominently featured in the upcoming food-themed adventure series alongside her puppet friends, Waffles, who is a blue puppet with her namesake breakfast sticking out of fuzzy white hair, and her pal Mochi is a smiling little pink rice cake; who go on adventures to cook and try new food.
“I’ve got some big news for you! This is something I’ve been working on for a while now, and I’m so excited to finally be able to tell you all about it. Allow me to introduce two new friends of mine: Their names are Waffles and Mochi,” Michelle Obama wrote. “On March 16, we’ll be launching a new children’s show on @Netflix called Waffles + Mochi. It’s all about good food: discovering it, cooking it, and of course, eating it. ”
The series also plans to highlight Waffle andMochi’s journey as they try to become chefs by highlighting famous chefs, cooking new and healthy recipes, and showcasing the importance of cooking with healthy ingredients.
“These two will take us on adventures all around the world to explore new ingredients and try out new recipes,” Michelle Obama continued. “Kids will love it, but I know that adults will also get plenty of laughs—and some tips for the kitchen.”
The theme of the show closely aligns with Obama’s “Let’s Move!” public health campaign, which was aimed at curbing childhood obesity. As one of her signature platforms, she tried to lead initiatives that helped families get access to healthy, affordable foods and increase their physical activities, a point Mrs. Obama pointed out in her reveal.
“In many ways, this show is an extension of my work to support children’s health as First Lady—and to be quite honest, I wish a program like this had been around when my girls were young,” Michelle Obama wrote. “I also know that this is a difficult time for so many families, and I’m hopeful that this delightful show can bring a bit of light and laughter to homes around the world. That’s why as part of the show’s commitment to helping families during the pandemic.”
“Waffles and Mochi” is set to air on March 16.

Veteran House singer Ceybil “Sweet Sable” Jefferies has passed away from complications due to contracting the coronavirus.
According to published reports, Jefferies, who was left blind after being diagnosed with neurosarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease that affects your nervous system, such as your brain or spinal cord, passed away after being diagnosed with coronavirus last week.
Salaam Remi and Aaron Parr, both friends of Jefferies, confirmed the news on social media.
“RestInPeaceTo.SweetSable… ThisWasTheJam!! We are losing so many people daily right now. Pls #StayYoAssInTheHouse,” Remi wrote.
Jefferies was signed to Atlantic Records in the 90s and made a name for herself as a powerful vocalist in house music with the release of her debut album Let Music Take Control in 1991. Her breakout single “So Special” was a bonafide hit as well as “Open Your Heart” which landed in the Top 20 of Billboard’s Dance Clubs Chart the same year.
After parting with Atlantic in 1993, Jefferies’ single “Old Times’ Sake” appeared on the Above the Rim soundtrack in 1994, under the name Sweet Sable. The track peaked at number 15 on Billboard‘s R&B charts. Her next album, Old Times Sake, produced two charting R&B singles, “Tonight” and “Love Thang.” The latter song would beat out Usher’s second-ever single “Think Of You” on Billboard‘s Hot Dance Breakouts chart.
