Angela Yee Says That She Felt More Criticized Than Charlamagne Tha God While On The Breakfast Club

Angela Yee Speaks on Relationship With Charlamagne Tha God Following Gucci Mane Interview

Angela Yee departed from The Breakfast Club last year after 12 years on the legendary radio morning show. She recently opened up about her experience on the show and revealed that she felt more heavily criticized than DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God, who both are no stranger to controversy.

Yee talked about her departure from the show and being heavily criticized while being interviewed on The Tamron Hall Show. She said that her contract was up in December of last year and was trying to decide whether to stay or go somewhere else. Obviously, she picked the latter.

“My contract had been up in December, and so I was already trying to figure out, ‘Am I staying here? Am I going somewhere else?’ And I just wanted to keep all of my options open,” Yee stated. “I never want to feel like I’m stuck somewhere.”

She went on to say how at times she felt as if she was more highly scrutinized than her male counterparts on the show, particularly Charlamagne Tha God, who is known for his controversial takes and behavior.

“Sometimes I would feel like I got it harder than [Charlamagne Tha God] did for some things that he said. And so I also want to make it clear that we’re all three individuals. You say what you say, feel how you feel, and I do too. But it’s hard because people affiliate you with the whole group.”

She added: “That was part of why I really wanted to have my own show because now what happens, I’m accountable for that. But when you have three different people with three different opinions or three different viewpoints and completely different personalities – we’re all individuals but sometimes it’s hard for people to separate that.”

Jim Jones Denies Any Beef With Freddie Gibbs

ae

Last month it was reported that Jim Jones and Freddie Gibbs got into a fight at Prime 112 in Miami. Since the altercation, no video or photographs of the incident has surfaced. Gibbs has denied getting beat up, while some, including DJ Akademiks, claim that the Gary MC and Jones’ crew got into it.

In a recent episode of Angela Yee’s Lip Service, Jones jumped around the question about the alleged altercation at the Miami steakhouse. Yee began by asking Jones if he was actually going to be dropping a collab project with producer Hitmaka called Prime 112, to which Jones called “false,” adding “I don’t know what he was trying to do… I don’t know why he would do that. Can we skip?”

Jones continued to talk about the project, saying that it is going to be filled with features including Pleasure P. “I told [Hitmaka] to call the album Hitmakas. I ain’t really have a title for it and shit I told him he could use his slogan.” He went on to say that he was not a fan of Hitmaka calling the project after the steakhouse where the alleged flight took place.  “It doesn’t fit. We not doing none of that. We trying to keep it solid and keep movin’ but the fuckin’ album is incredible,” he said.

Yee continued to try to get Jones to answer about the incident, which he dodged once again. “I’m in a point in my life where — we all make bad decisions and shit like that but it’s how you [move past it],” he said before Angela asked, “You’re done with that. You’re moving past it?”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Jones replied.

We may never find out what actually happened at that steakhouse in Miami.

You can watch the full episode below. The convo about the fight starts at 1:02:45.

DJ Envy Shares That 6ix9ine’s Manager Called Him Multiple Times for a Breakfast Club Interview

Tekashi 6ix9ine Was Hospitalized for Overdose on Caffeine and Hydroxycut

Since Tekashi 6ix9ine’s release from prison, many celebrities and fans have been vocal in the choice to no longer support the rapper for his alleged involvement in being an informant for authorities. The rainbow-haired rapper will the be subject of a new docuseries developed by Showtime titled, Supervillain: The Making of Tekashi 6ix9ine

The series is said to be split into three parts, detailing the rise of the Brooklyn rapper up until the incident that begins the rapper’s reputation as a snitch.

In an episode of The Breakfast Club, DJ Envy sat down with his co-host and let them know that he received multiple calls from an unknown number that turned out to be Tekashi’s manager asking for an interview for the “Trollz” rapper.

“This morning I see three..four missed calls this morning at like 5 AM right? But they’re from numbers I didn’t know, West coast numbers. And I’m like ‘who the h*ll is this?’” Dj Envy then details that before revealing who he was, 6ix9ine’s manager first pranked him, acting as if he were the precinct.

“Aye, this is Murphy I was just playing with you. This is Tekashi 6ix9ine’s manager. Would you interview him?” DJ Envy then stated that his answer was “no” and the only reason he answered the phone that early was because he believed it was a family emergency.

This come’s after DJ Envy and Charlemagne Tha God’s decision to ban Tekashi 69 from their platform for the rapper’s status of being a snitch back in 2019.  “You turned on everybody. You get released and now you’re rewarded for it? I just don’t necessarily think it’s a message that I want to do. I don’t want to promote to kids that you go wild and do some stupid ish and you just go tell on the people you’ve done and all of a sudden you come out and can put out records and it’s all cool,” Envy stated.

Charlemagne Tha God agreed and stated that Tekashi would have to do some soul searching and stating that the rapper would have a target on his back.

Angela Yee, on the other hand, believed that doing an interview with the rapper would give him the opportunity to speak to his fans directly about the situation and set the record straight.

Will Tekashi 6ix9ine ever be able to make a comeback from this?
