Nicki Minaj Calls Out Rappers for Being Hypocritical About Snitching

Nicki Minaj is sounding off on snitches.

After receiving backlash for collaborating with 6ix9ine, the rap queen is addressing the topic of snitch culture and why it’s taboo in hip-hop. Speaking with her “Trollz” collaborator on Instagram Live Thursday, she revealed the difference between rappers and “street ni**as” and why each needs to play by their own rules.

“I feel street n***as have every right to feel how they want to feel about snitching because they live that life,” said Nicki. “I feel rappers need to play it easy because everybody mingles and integrates with everybody, and if a top executive rat calls one of y’all unsigned rappers right now to sign y’all, y’all signing.”

She explained that each must adhere to their own code. “I’m not on the block with 6ix9ine. Me and 6ix9ine is not on the block. We in the music business,” said Nicki. “You rappers is in rooms all the time with people with sketchy pasts and I’m not judging anybody ’cause I’m not doing that. I have nothing but respect for so many of these people and I would never fix my face to talk crazy about them.”

However, she admitted that her husband, Kenneth Petty, “doesn’t f**k with the snitch culture.” “And I respect him because he’s lived a different life,” she added.

She also accused rappers of being hypocrites for having different standards when it comes to hip-hop and the streets. “Y’all wanna talk about people not writing their raps one minute and then do songs with people that don’t write raps the next minute. But if somebody talk about the integrity of hip-hop, then it’s a problem. But y’all can talk about the integrity of the streets and not snitching. Well, we not on the block. None of you ni**as is on the block.”

“As far as rappers,” Nicki continued, “rappers gotta just play it easy because y’all know that y’all bend the rules for certain people.”

During his Instagram Live, 6ix9ine put Meek Mill, Future, and Snoop Dogg on blast for calling him out as a rat after he cooperated with the feds. He said they’re being hypocritical because they are still associating with snitches in their lives.

“They pick and choose,” said Tekashi, while Nicki concurred: “If we gon’ have that conversation, you gotta call out everybody.”
