Nick Cannon Responds to Kanye West After Kim Kardashian Comments

Nick Cannon is clapping back at Kanye West after being called out on social media.

On Thursday (Sept. 20), the G.O.O.D. Music mogul told Cannon to stop talking about his wife, Kim Kardashian West, in interviews.

“First of all, I want to address Nick Cannon. I understand that you used to date my wife, but you know, you get into an interview, don’t mention my wife,” Kanye said in an Instagram video, referring to comments made by Cannon in a Complex interview where he didn’t think it was “that far off of a concept” that Drake and Kim hooked up.

In response to Kanye’s warning, Cannon posted his own Instagram videos while in Houston for his “Wild ‘N Out Live” tour.

“First off, let me say welcome back Ye from the sunken place, it’s a beautiful thing,” he began. “Glad you back with it, brother. Nothing but love and respect for you, you know I always had that.”

The “Wild ‘N Out” host also defended his comments about Kim. “I’ve never said anything disrespectful or harmful, in my opinion, to your marriage or your union,” he said. “I salute it, keep it going. But you not gonna tell me what I can and what I can’t say. I’m a solid individual. Somebody ask me a question, I’ma answer it to the best of my ability. I’ma give my opinion and ain’t no harm, no foul, but if it got your spirit feeling weird, holler at me.”

In a second video, Cannon chided Kanye for not picking up the phone and dealing with the matter instead of running to social media. He also invited him onto the 200th episode of “Wild ‘N Out” to hash things out.

“I guess this is the way we communicating now in 2018, via social media. I guess we don’t use phones and stuff like that no more,” he said. “But just saying to my man Kanye that the 200th episode of ‘Wild ‘N Out’ is upon us…You’re more than welcome. Let’s talk about it, man. Come on the show.”

He suggested that they squash their issues and have a “good time” with it. “It could be Mariah jokes, Kim jokes,” said Cannon, referring to Kim and his ex-wife, Mariah Carey.

While he has love for Kanye, he won’t be silenced. “I got nothing but love for you, but you know I’ll always speak my mind, just like you always speak yours,” he added. “Not you, not NBC, not no corporate infrastructures, no one is ever gonna control what I say because I speak truth always, it’s love.”
