James Blake dropped his fourth album Assume Form on Friday. In addition to the Travis Scott and Metro Boomin-assisted “Mile High,” the project features a rare collaboration with André 3000.
On “Where’s the Catch?,” the OutKast legend adds his immaculate flow over Blake’s piano-driven production. “This may be a little bit heady…I hate heady-ass verses,” says 3 Stacks before launching into his poetic verse.
“So perfect, so perfect, so why do I look for curtains?” he raps. “Uncertain but certainly false alarm’s alertin’ / A burden in beautiful times, a garden snake / Won’t bite me, but frightens me like I know I’m ate / I know I ain’t, I know it.”

Blake shared his excitement over the collaboration. “I was, and remain, inspired by OutKast. Catching him now is maybe even more special to me, because the way he writes is just so good!” he told Apple Music. “I love the way he balances slight abstraction with this feeling of paranoia. The line ‘Like I know I’m eight, and I know I ain’t’—anxiety bringing you back to being a child, but knowing that you’re supposed to feel strong and stable because you’re an adult now. That’s just so beautifully put.”
Starting Feb. 18, Blake will launch a North American tour in support of Assume Form, with stops in Boston, Chicago, and New York, wrapping March 16 in Los Angeles.
