As a Scorpio, we think about Life and Death a lot. Being the sign of Death and Rebirth, we contemplate our mortality frequently, which is why I think we also seem to constantly search for a deeper perspective, in the hopes of transforming to reach our higher Selves. Having an experience that brought me as close to death as I have ever been, I’ve spent the months in recovery thinking A LOT. About the way I want to live the rest of the life God spared and what I have to offer, having been given this chance by Our Creator to discover a greater purpose. But it’s also made me think about LOVE. The outpouring of LOVE I’ve felt the last few months, not just from friends and family but the ways total strangers have supported me in messages left in email and DMs and comments; sharing their own painful stories as a way to create a sense of solidarity with me… man, I don’t know what else to say other than my birthday wish is for YOUR peace, happiness, safety, health and abundance. The pic I chose is an example of LOVE. My two Scorpio Sisters @iamalesharenee and @rocsidiaz in my hospital room trying to raise my spirits with some pampering. I ❤ them and I ❤ all of you.

Back in late July, Ford reflected on surviving a horrific car crash.

Just over 4 weeks ago I was involved in a near fatal car crash. I have struggled to remember a lot of what happened during the course of my recovery. Due to my skull fracture and concussion, there are parts I may never remember. What I do know now, after seeing photos and hearing the accounts from people that came to my rescue before the EMT’s, is that some incredible human beings stopped to pull me from the wreckage of my Jeep, risking their lives not knowing if the car was at risk of catching fire. They removed their own clothing to place under and around my head to hold the gaping wound to my skull closed, and held a hat over my face to shield me from the sun. Just days before, I had been having a moment where I feared for humanity. Where it seemed we were more interested in capturing a moment rather than helping a soul in need. My fears were put to rest, by the quick thinking and compassionate actions of the Good Samaritans that helped me, the fast acting EMT workers and trauma staff and Huntington Memorial hospital and by the overwhelming outpouring of support that I’ve received from people all over the world. I’m humbled by the love and care and concern I’ve received. To my friends who raced to my hospital bed and rallied around me since the day of the crash, you are my forever family. From bringing me everything I could possibly need to having the forethought to start a Go Fund Me to assist with my present and future medical expenses, I’ll never be able to convey how much it has meant to me to know, without a doubt, that you had my back in my greatest hour of need.

A few months ago, details surfaced surrounding Melyssa’s near-death experience.

The star of Bravo’s 2014 series Blood, Sweat and Heels was driving on a Los Angeles freeway when an 18-wheeler truck clipped her back right tire while merging, causing Ford’s 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited to flip over three times before eventually landing on the highway upside down. The 41-year-old suffered a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain and bodily abrasions. Ford’s face and head sustained a 10-inch cut, which doctors had to surgically close with stitches and staples.
