Lil Wayne Becomes First Artist to Debut Two Songs in Hot 100 Top Five

Lil Wayne is making chart history.

In addition to topping the Billboard 200 with Tha Carter V, the Young Money rapper becomes the first artist to debut two songs simultaneously in the top five on the Billboard Hot 100. The Kendrick Lamar-assisted “Mona Lisa” enters at No. 2, while “Don’t Cry” featuring XXXTentacion opens at No. 5.

Lil Wayne also joins Drake as the only artists to debut four songs in the top 10 in a single week. “Uproar” enters at No. 7 and “Let It Fly” featuring Travis Scott places at No. 10.

Additionally, 22 of the 23 tracks from Tha Carter V charted on the Hot 100. Lil Wayne and Drake are the only acts to chart at least 22 songs simultaneously in the chart’s history.

Tha Carter V opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after selling 480,000 equivalent album units in its first week, of which 141,000 were traditional sales. C5 also has the second-biggest streaming week ever for an album, with 433 million on-demand audio streams.

Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” featuring Cardi B spends a third week at No. 1.
