Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar is officially on his daddy duties. New reports claim the hip-hop superstar and longtime girlfriend/fiancée Whitney Alford are now parents.

According to reports, K. Dot and Whitney welcomed their newborn daughter today.

Kendrick Lamar is a dad! The rapper, 32, and his fiancée Whitney Alford, 33, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on July 26, Us Weekly confirms. The longtime couple and high school sweethearts have kept their relationship pretty private since Kendrick first stepped into the spotlight, but they have stepped out together on a number of occasions, including their most recent appearance at the Grammys in January 2018. (POPSUGAR)

Lamar and Alford’s relationship dates back to their high school days.

At the time of his announcement, Lamar and Alford had been dating for about 10 years. Their relationship began when they were both attending Centennial High School in Compton, California. Alford, who has styled her fiancé’s hair for a few performances and photo shoots, graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in accounting before she became a licensed aesthetician. Over the past few years, Lamar has let loose a few details about his love for Alford.

“Yeah, yeah, definitely,” he said when asked about his girlfriend. “I’m loyal to the soil. At the end of the day you want to always have real people around you, period–whether male or female.” (“The Breakfast Club”)

Kendrick also explained why he views Whitney as much more than his ride or die.

“I wouldn’t even call her my girl. That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion–she’s somebody I can tell my fears to.” (Billboard)
