Jenifer Lewis Wears Nike on Emmy’s Red Carpet to Support Kaepernick

Jenifer Lewis is a queen! The legendary actress hit the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards and ditched the traditional gowns and heels for a Nike fit. Lewis hit the red carpet of the awards show and stated her choice of attire is to celebrate and support Colin Kaepernick.

“I am wearing Nike to applaud them for supporting Colin Kaepernick and his protest against racial injustice and police brutality. I had some drag queens come over and put some beads on it,” she told Variety.

In case you missed it, earlier this month Nike was the center of controversy and success when they revealed Colin Kaepernick as the star of their “Just Do It” anniversary campaign. The messaging of the 30th year of the trademark phrase supported the efforts of the former 49ers quarterback.
