The rap game is more than just shook up right now. Celebrities have come forward to remember the life of Marvel Comics co-creator Stan Lee as his sudden death continues to make global headlines.
Over the past hour, everyone from Wu-Tang’s Raekwon to superhero enthusiast Pete Rock have weighed-in on how much Lee meant to them.
Earlier today, Lee’s daughter announced the crushing news to media outlets.
We’re told an ambulance rushed to Lee’s Hollywood Hills home early Monday morning and he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. We’re told that’s where he died. Lee had suffered several illnesses over the last year or so — he had a bout of pneumonia and vision issues. Stan started Marvel with Jack Kirby in 1961 with The Fantastic Four. He went on to create Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man and The Avengers. (TMZ)
A few months ago, Lee joked about not landing a huge cameo in this year’s Black Panther blockbuster.
While speaking with fellow creator Todd McFarlane earlier today at ACE Comic Con in Glendale, Arizona, Lee joked about his upcoming cameo in Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther. “I’m a little disappointed in my Black Panther cameo,” Lee joked. “I had wanted a great fight scene where I fight the Black Panther to a standstill.” (Comic Book)
