Ghostface Killah Revamps ’94 Wu Classic ‘C.R.E.A.M.’ Beat And Adds Flavor In New Track ‘You’

Without a doubt, Ghostface Killah is one of the most consistent living legends in the game. Just at the end of 2018, he was a prime guest feature in Teyana Taylor’s “Gonna Love Me” (Remix) along with fellow Wu kin, Method Man and Raekwon. Now, at the top of 2019, the Supreme Clientele lyricist has added on a twist to his rap scrolls.

If hip-hop heads can recall, 1994 Wu-Tang Clan classic “C.R.E.A.M” did not feature a verse from Ghostface. In his latest make, “You” Ghost revamps the instrumentals of the gem by using the same sample, The Charmels’ “As Long As I’ve Got You” and adds on his own flavor. With Nicole Buss on the chorus emulating the female interest, the track is the ultimate ode to one’s significant other while bringing satisfaction to fans who were craving to hear the Wu-Tang lyricist on one of Hip-Hop’s most iconic songs. In signature fashion, no time was wasted on dropping magnetic bars like “Kisses around your neck like a bow tie” and “Your brown sugar got me higher than five octaves,” ultimately securing his emcee stance.

Asides from the continued anticipation for the release of Supreme Clientele 2, which was reportedly in the works last year, Wu-Tang: Of Mics and Men, a documentary on the rise and history of the Wu-Tang Clan is set the premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on Monday.
