Drake’s ‘So Far Gone’ Mixtape Debuts at No. 5

Ten years after its release, Drake’s So Far Gone makes its debut on the charts.

The mixtape, which was originally released for free on Feb. 13, 2009, enters at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 45,000 equivalent album units (7,000 in album sales) in the U.S., earning Drake his 10th overall and consecutive top 10 project.

So Far Gone, featuring appearances from Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, and Omarion, was never commercially released to streaming services until Feb. 15 of this year in honor of its 10th anniversary. In 2009, a seven-song So Far Gone EP debuted and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.

According to Billboard, a physical release is due March 8.

So Far Gone was the third-most streamed album of the week, behind Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next (168.6 million) and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie’s Hoodie SZN (57.5 million).

Thank U, Next spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 151,000 equivalent album units (20,000 in album sales). It becomes the first album by a solo woman to earn more than one week at the top in over a year, since Taylor Swift’s Reputation.

Elsewhere in the top 10, A Boogie’s Hoodie SZN falls 4-6 (39,000), Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys slips 5-7 (34,000), Travis Scott’s Astroworld drops 6-8 (33,000), 21 Savage’s I Am > I Was dips 7-9 (32,000), and Meek Mill’s Championships holds at No. 10 (32,000).
