Big Sean Performs ‘Single Again’ on ‘Tonight Show’

Don Life. Big Sean returned to late night for the TV debut of “Single Again.”

Rocking an Afro, the Detroit rapper hit the stage on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday night (Aug. 7) to perform the therapeutic track, which samples Carl Thomas’ “I Wish.”

“I’ma take my time,” he said while standing in front of a ticking clock before sitting down for a round of speed dating with two women.

With two roses in hand, Sean made his way to the front of the stage while singing about self-love. “What you have you done for yourself? What have you done for your mental health?” he asked.

“Single Again,” which also features vocals from Jhené Aiko and Ty Dolla $ign, is set to appear on Sean’s upcoming project, his first since 2017’s I Decided.

“I just want to convey where I’m at. I don’t want to talk over people’s heads,” he recently told Billboard. “I want to communicate the things I learned along the way. For instance, ‘Single Again.’ I haven’t really heard a rap song about being single that wasn’t like, ‘I don’t fuck with you’ or, ‘Baby, I want you back.’ I never heard a rap song that was kind of embracing like, ‘I’m fucked up. Maybe I realized that it’s on me and I need to work on myself a little bit.’”
