Katt Williams Arrested in Portland, May Be Extradited to Georgia

Katt Williams was arrested in Portland over the weekend. The comedian was scheduled to appear at Nick Cannon’s Wild N’ Out show that would be held in Oregon, however, he got into an altercation with the man who was driving him to the venue.

TMZ reports the attack on the driver went down on Friday night resulting in a misdemeanor assault charge and a $2,500 bail. The assault occurred after a disagreement about also driving Katt’s dog, resulting in cuts and swelling.

If that charge seems light, upon booking it was realized that Williams was a fugitive and wanted in Atlanta. Katt Williams remained in jail over the weekend and was facing the possibility of being extradited to Georgia.

Before the recent legal issues, Katt Williams was in the news for a beef primarily with Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish, but also named Lil Rel among other rising comedians. When asked about issues with Williams, Rel responded “The crazy thing is, maybe like five years ago he pulled me to the side and was like, ‘you going to be a star one day. Don’t let them burn you out’.”
