Shaun King, who is one of Bernie Sanders’ most vocal surrogates not named Nina Turner, is feeling the wrath of Twitter once again following Sanders getting catch Ls across the map on Super Tuesday.

It wasn’t a good night to be Bernie Sanders or a supporter of the self-proclaimed Democratic-Socialist. Following his decisive victory in South Carolina, shoutout to Black voters, the “Joementum” continued with Biden sweeping the south with the help of one of the most loyal voting blocks, southern Blacks.

Shaun King, who was more than likely not feeling the way his candidate was getting mollywhopped because the political revolution he has been boasting about, didn’t show up, got caught up in an interesting fiasco on Twitter. Mr. King got called out twice for lying on the social media platform, first for claiming Beto O’ Rourke supporters allegedly reaching out to him to express their sadness he endorsed Joe Biden. A former O’Rourke staffer responded to the tweet shutting that down.

After Bernie got his tail handed to him on Super Tuesday, Shaun King got caught in another lie when he accused Rachel Maddow of saying that “senior officials within the Democratic Party are interfering with the primaries to stop Bernie Sanders.” Maddow responded to his accusation in a tweet and pointing out that she “reported no such thing.”

In fact, King doubled down, sharing the video…where it actually confirmed that she was quoting someone else.

We don’t think he’s ready for Rachel Maddow to go in on him on her show.

Anyway, the flood gates opened up from there with Twitter calling out King and even got one of his many nicknames, Talcum X, trending for good measure. You can see all of the hilarious reactions to King getting called out in the gallery below.

Shaun King Catches Tremendous Slander After Putting Out Call For Brother Nature’s Attackers

Bernie Sanders Kicks-off Campaign In NYC

Shaun King is either someone the Internet completely roots for or is totally against and right now, he’s catching some tremendous slander online. After telling Brother Nature via Twitter that he will find the men who jumped him in Miami, Twitter has been clowning the activist with relentless fervor.

In the now-viral clip of Brother Nature, born Kelvin Pena, getting jumped in and outside a pizza shop in Miami by some clout-chasing goons who posted the incriminating footage, King reached out via Twitter to Nature to say he’s on the case. What has ensued in the wake of that call for justice has been nothing but joke after joke at the expense of King.

More of that kind of action can be found below.

Shaun King Unveils Fundraising Report Amid Accusations Of Thievery

Bernie Sanders Kicks-off Campaign In NYC

Source: NurPhoto / Getty

For years, Shaun King has risen as one of the more high-profile activists of his era and that in turn has led to a growing number of critics from all sides who believed his efforts were questionable. Amid a chorus of dissent, King has released what he has deemed is an independent review of his finances and fundraising efforts to prove that he has not taken any monies for himself or family.

The report was published via Medium and features the research work of Tamika Mallory, Co-Chair of The Women’s March and Co-Founder of Justice League NYC and civil rights attorney Lee Merritt, who King claims he gave full access to all his accounting records, including his bank account, credit card statements, and work with a pair pf political action committees.

From Medium:

Shaun King recently contacted a team of experts in justice reform, law, finance, and compliance to take an unfettered look at his finances over the past five years of his public leadership. He instructed us to share whatever we found, whether flattering or otherwise, and he even helped us make direct contact with dozens of individual family members, charities, and campaigns for whom he has helped to raise money.

This report was authored by Tamika Mallory, Co-Chair of The Women’s March and Co-Founder of Justice League NYC; Becky Bond, partner at The Social Practice; Tiffany Hawkins and Allan Boomer, financial experts with Momentum Advisors; Rob Smith, attorney and executive for The Justice Collaborative; David Mitrani, attorney for Sandler Reiff; and Lee Merritt, civil rights attorney — with the support of CPA and tax attorney Richard Bell.

Whether or not this quells King’s critics that he has pilfered funds for his own gain remains to be seen. However, families that King has openly spoken up for have praised him for his efforts, including the families of Botham Jean, Nia Wilson, Philando Castile, and others.

The 72-page report can be found here.

Look: Black Lives Matter Activist Shaun King Proves He’s Raised $34.5 Million + Didn’t Steal A Dollar Of It – “This Is Very Important To Me”

Shaun King

Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King is leading by example. The political personality has come forward to reveal his involvement in a investigation to prove he’s raised $34.5 million for families and didn’t steal any of it.

This is very important to me, OK? CLICK THE LINK IN MY BIO or go now to ShaunKingFundraisingReport.com.

Since the Black Lives Matter Movement began, I’ve helped raise $34.5 million for families impacted by police violence and white supremacy, for families impacted by natural disasters and personal tragedy, for charities and justice reform, and everything in between. I’ve helped raise more money than any other single person in the movement during this time. I’m proud of this.

But for the entire time, people have been saying that I’m stealing the money. They’ve said these fundraisers are frauds and scams. First, those lies were exclusively said by white supremacists, then ultra conservatives, then mainstream conservatives. And I always thought it would end there. Then liberal white people started repeating the lie. Now the lie, after being repeated for years, is mainly being spread by Black folk – and I don’t mean fake accounts, but real people, with verified accounts, who openly and brazenly post complete fabrications about my fundraising.
So I gave a 7 person team of experts complete access to every fundraiser I’ve ever been a part of. And this team, which includes: Tamika Mallory, Co-Chair of The Women’s March and Co-Founder of Justice League NYC; Becky Bond, partner at The Social Practice; Tiffany Hawkins and Allan Boomer, financial experts with Momentum Advisors; Rob Smith, attorney and executive for The Justice Collaborative; David Mitrani, attorney for Sandler Reiff; and Lee Merritt, civil rights attorney — with the support of CPA and tax attorney Richard Bell.

I gave them full access to the past 5 years of my tax returns.

I gave them full access to the past 10 years of my checking accounts, savings accounts, investment accounts, credit cards, and money management software.

I introduced them to every family and every attorney and every charity and campaign I’ve ever supported.

And I gave them full permission to report their unfettered findings – good, bad, and ugly.

And what they found is in this 72 page page report – including statements and testimonials from 49 different families I’ve supported.

This is that one moment where I want you to be nosey. My wife and I provided the past 5 years of our full tax returns. We provided full access to the past 10 years of our checking & savings accounts. We gave this team access to my email and all of my social media accounts. And we gave them full access to every family, every charity, every cause, every campaign I’ve ever reported.

As Offset Celebrates FATHER Of 4 Release, Multiple Schools Exposed For Doing The Unthinkable

A-Boogie Look At It School

Atlanta rapper Offset is enjoying the long-awaited release of his Father of 4 solo album but he might want to keep tabs on having his kids attend a couple Southern schools.

This week, Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King exposed a Virginia elementary school celebrating Black History Month with a racist “Runaway Slave” game.

The game’s aftermath made ultimately sparked a full-fledged apology and school board discussion.

At a school board meeting last week, Michelle Thomas, president of the Loudoun County chapter of the NAACP, told the board that she learned of the exercise last month in a letter that said pupils were given the choice of being a slave, a sharecropper or a landowner. But “slavery was not a joke,” she said. “You didn’t get to choose.” Thomas said children “don’t need to relive slavery. We’ve done enough. We’ve paid enough.” (NBC News)

King also shared buzz about possible legislation to take food out of children’s mouths.

According to reports, the legislation would ultimately force schools to face a funding penalty if students do not meet a reading level.

Rep. Alan Clark (R-Lonsdale) proposed a bill that would cut lunch funding in schools that struggle with reading, and he is working to get others to support the idea. Clark’s proposed bill, if passed, would reduce a district’s “national school lunch funding” if they’re struggling in the reading department over a period of time. “I don’t understand, and hopefully that bill won’t get passed in Arkansas,” Laquita Chalmers, a parent in West Memphis, said. Black Twitter Hauls Shaun King Out The Paint For Bullying Writer With Lawsuit

2018 BET Awards -Show

Source: FayesVision/WENN.com / WENN

Shaun King has undoubtedly used his large platform to be on the right side of justice more often than not, but his recent actions on Twitter reveal that he’s using that same platform to harm those he typically protects. A writer by the name of Clarissa Brooks put out a tweet that took a jab at King that she later deleted, only for the activist to dredge it back up with legal bullying and tough talk.

Brooks tweeted on Jan. 7, “Are folks going to hold Shaun King accountable to money he ‘raised’ for Cyntoia? Or is that going to disappear as well…” which prompted King to issue the first of many missives towards Brooks and amassing an Avengers-like lineup of legal representation including Benjamin Crump and Lee Merritt on Wednesday (Jan. 16).

Right.

While King certainly has the right to defend himself, the lengths he went to try and prove that he isn’t to be trifled with seemed harsh on the surface and betrays much of what he’s stood for over the past few years. This has led to an overwhelming number of Black Twitter users giving King the business for flexing muscle when Brooks had already deleted the tweet and was attempting to move on from the matter.

#SayHisName Chinedu Okobi Killed by Police Remembered as ‘Gentle Soul’

A California community is searching for answers after a black man was killed after an encounter with police.

According to published reports, Chinedu Valentine Okobi stopped breathing while in the custody of the San Mateo County sheriff deputies on Oct. 3 following reports that he was running in and out of traffic in Millbrae, near San Francisco.

Okobi who’s sister, Ebele Okobi, revealed he suffered from mental issues, reportedly attacked an officer who responded to the scene, leading to him being tased.

His sister called her brother “smart, funny, hard-working and incredibly kind” in an emotional Facebook post on Oct. 8.

“Chinedu Valentine Okobi. He was a person. He was my little brother, he was a father, he was loved. Now he is gone, and our hearts are broken,” wrote Ebele.

Activist Shaun King took to Instagram on Monday and posted tributes to Okobi, calling to humanize him with love before the police attempted to vilify him once the full story is released.

“This is our brother Chinedu Okobi with his beautiful daughter, Christina. He loved her so much. Like the daughters of Eric Garner and John Crawford and Jeffrey Dennis and Walter Scott and so many other thousands of Black men who’ve been killed by police in this country, she no longer has a father on this earth. The loss is immeasurable. All day today I will be telling Chinedu’s story on my timeline. Please comment and share and spread this story. We want to humanize Chinedu before the police do otherwise.”

In an exclusive statement to EBONY, King revealed that he knew Okobi after meeting him at Morehouse College. King, who served as Morehouse’s student government president when Okobi attended, said the man did poetry, rap, and spoken word and was a “gentle soul” who was proud to be from the Bay area, despite originally being from Nigeria. He added that his death sheds light on how Black people are treated by the police.

“The family hasn’t really gotten any information at all from the local sheriff’s office,” said King. “One of the things that happen when someone is killed by police, their entire humanity is defined by what happened the moment we died. [The family knows] like I know that Black men and women are routinely treated one way, in what otherwise should be a routine encounter. The family is devastated.”

The San Mateo sheriff’s office confirmed that an investigation is ongoing and the case was handed to the district attorney’s office. The five deputies involved in the incident were placed on paid leave pending the results of the investigation.
