YG and DJ Mustard are a dynamic duo but do you think they’re as iconic as Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg?
There are a number of rapper-producer combinations that go well, and the West Coast pair definitely fall into this category. They are both instrumental in the sound of modern West Coast rap, but did they do enough to be compared to the likes of legends like Snoop and Dre?
YG posted a photo of himself with DJ Mustard and mentioned the classic producer-rapper pair in the caption: “Snoop & Dre,” it read.
While we’re not discrediting the work that they’ve put in, Snoop and Dre ushered in an entire new sub-genre of Hip Hop/Rap and created a legacy for themselves. YG and DJ Mustard are certainly on their way.
