Chicago rapper Twista is urging his peers to show support for Lori Lightfoot. The hip-hop veteran has delivered a major co-sign to the openly gay Chi-Town mayor.

On Thursday, Twista went to Instagram to salute Lightfoot and dish on what he hopes she tackles during her tenure as mayor.

Earlier in the week, Lightfoot made headlines after officially being inaugurated to her new position.

Lori Lightfoot officially became Chicago’s first black female and openly gay mayor on Monday. She immediately laid out a four-point plan for safety, education, stability and integrity during her 40-minute inauguration speech. “I’m looking ahead to a city of safe streets and strong schools for every child, regardless of neighborhood or ZIP code,” Lightfoot said. “A city where people want to grow old and not flee. A city of sanctuary against fear where no one must hide in the shadows. A city that is affordable for families and seniors, and where every job pays a living wage. A city of fairness and hope and prosperity for the many, not just for the few, a city that holds equity and inclusion as our guiding principles.” (NPR)
