Trey Songz Reveals Why He Didn’t Break For 6 God: “Drake Wanted To Sign To Me”

R&B singer Trey Songz is keeping it 100 on missing out on signing the 6 God. The crooner recently talked about not caving in and signing Drake at the start of his music career.

In a new interview, Trigger Trey said he knew Drizzy would have more opportunities by not signing to him.

Drake wanted to sign to me and all that early on in his career. I couldn’t do what needed to be done for him at that time. I saw the talent in him. Now ain’t look how he look now. He’s cool as h*ll. His confidence is on heavy. He wasn’t that guy. He was a little nervous – like kind of timid. But when you listen to his music, you can hear that confidence in him. You listen to him sing, you listen to him rap, you could tell that’s what he really wanted to do. You could tell he was smart and that he was going to be good.” (Big Boy’s Neighborhood)

Despite not being on the same label, the duo managed to put together some hit collaborations.

A few days ago, Drake returned home after a five-month hiatus.

“It took me five months to make it back here,” Drake said showing off his apartment’s living room. “Finally back in my apartment. You know? Much respect to everybody that’s working away from home, away from family, away from friends. Grinding. Very thankful for this right here.”

Last week, the 6 God shared a pic of himself alongside Hollywood divas Salma Hayek and Tiffany Haddish.
