Devin Wade Ousted From Gillie da King’s ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ Podcast After 15 Percent Ownership Demand

Million Dollaz Worth of Game Podcast is one of the hottest podcasts in the culture, but in episode 48 the now duo of Gillie Da King and Wallo 267 made a change to the roster after a financial dispute between co-hosts.

Now 50 episodes in fans noticed that Devin Wade better known as Dev Nasty was absent from the last two episodes, and Gillie revealed some details in the form of a meme on Instagram as to why Dev hasn’t been on set. “When a n***a ask for 15 percent of ur company and he’s the sound guy,” Gillie wrote under a photo of he and Wallo’s interview with The Breakfast Club.

Dev was not only 1/3 of the M worth of Game podcasters, but he was also the producer of the show and, according to Dev himself, was the owner of the facilities where the recording took place.

Wade posted a cryptic message on Instagram regarding the situation, but also thanked everyone for the support as he celebrates his 40th birthday.

In the comments on the post, Wade addressed the situation saying that he won’t change his IG bio that reads “Producer of mworthofgame” because “nobody can take away your accolades or resume.”

Wallo has not commented on the situation publicly. The Barstool sports sponsored podcast currently has more than 114,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Russell Simmons’ ‘All Def Digital’ Not Shutting Down But ‘Restructuring’

All Def Digital, the Hip-Hop and urban youth culture media company founded by Russell Simmons, is going through a major shakeup. According to reports All Def Digital is restructuring but is not folding, according to president and CEO Chris Blackwell.

Last week, citing anonymous sources, internet-video publication Tubefilter reported that All Def Digital was calling it quits after massive layoffs and that an unnamed business-advisory firm was “divvy[ing] up assets” of the company.

Reached via email, Blackwell denied that the company was closing its doors. “We are reorganizing the company in advance of a strategic deal.”

Simmons resigned from his leadership spot and from any involvement in All Def Digital in 2017 after several sexual-assault allegations came to light. Numerous women accused the media mogul of raping them; Simmons denied all the allegations. According to Blackwell, Simmons hasn’t had an ownership interest in ADD since early 2018.

No one knows the truth, which is the scariest part of it,” says one former employee who requested anonymity. “I don’t think anyone’s ever been told the truth in that building. The way Chris is talking about it now makes it sound even crazier.”

Simmons, the co-founder of music label Def Jam Recordings, originally launched ADD as a YouTube network in 2013 in partnership with AwesomenessTV. The company expanded into a multiplatform network and studio, which had deals with HBO and YouTube for originals, along with live events, and brand partnerships through its in-house agency ADHD.

10 Classic Rap Videos We Hope Get Remastered By YouTube and Universal Music Group

This week it was reported by The New York Times that YouTube and Universal Music Group would be joining to give some of our favorite classic music videos the remastering treatment. With a time span that goes from the ’80s all the way to the 2000s when things began to change for the better, it goes without saying that UMG has a lot of ground to cover.

The upgrades will be towards sound and picture quality to be compatible with HD streaming devices. The technological advances of today have made it possible to go back and actually “recreate” videos using their original formats, be it original film, Digibeta or even earlier ones like Betacam SPs. This will go into effect for approximately 1,000 videos by the end of 2020, and we’re kinda hoping they’re taking a few recommendations.

Keep scrolling to see 10 of our favorite throwback Hip-Hop music videos from the Universal Music Group vault that we hope to see in HD on YouTube very soon:

N.W.A. – “Express Yourself”

Year: 1988
A West Coast classic that dropped the year The Source debuted on newsstands. Even today, N.W.A. is still considered legends to the game, and we’re still getting these issues out — go cop “The Future Issue” (#275) today!

Slick Rick – “Children’s Story”

Year: 1988
A story we’ll never get tired of hearing or watching. The final scene could definitely benefit from a color & lighting upgrade for sure.

LL Cool J – “Going Back To Cali”

Year: 1989
Not only would a digital upgrade of this video be dope, but a full color version would make for an amazing anniversary release, too!

Eric B. & Rakim – “Juice (Know The Ledge)”

Year: 1992
Even though the scenes with Eric B. and Rakim are brief and only in black & white, the video overall should get a fresh finish for the sake of Pac’s groundbreaking role in Juice alone.

Ice Cube – “It Was A Good Day”

Year: 1992
It would be a good day indeed if we were able to watch this video in high definition. We’re actually surprised this song hasn’t been made into an episode of Tales yet!

Queen Latifah – “U.N.I.T.Y.”

Year: 1993
A timeless message that is still relevant today. The Queen definitely deserve to be seen and heard in HD quality.

Dr. Dre feat. Snoop Dogg, Kurupt & Nate Dogg – “The Next Episode”

Year: 1999
We could name a few things in this video that we’d definitely like to see in the highest definition, and no we’re not talking about Snoop’s iconic Shirley Temple curls.

Talib Kweli – “Get By”

Year: 2002
Simply because, quite frankly, we still miss the old Kanye.

DMX – “X Gon’ Give It To Ya”

Year: 2003
Once X started getting into movies, his videos got way more cinematic. The CGI graphics in this video alone need a fresh upgrade without a doubt.

Kendrick Lamar – “Cut You Off”

Year: 2010
Not only was this K.Dot’s first real music video, but it reflects the year when everything changed and the Digital Era really made its impact on the game. We nominate this one off sheer nostalgia.

What are some of the music videos that you’re hoping to see get remastered? Let us know over on Facebook and Twitter!

Grammy Nominated Justin Love Reveals That Hit Song ‘Focus’ Sung By H.E.R. Was Written About His Mom

Everyone loves H.E.R.

And the song that put her over the top was the 2016/17 hit song, “Focus” that appeared on her self-entitled EP, H.E.R. Well, the song that has been so many people’s “Baby Making Music” playlist was co-written by Justin Love, a emerging talent out of New Jersey.

Love, a self-taught Puerto Rican/ Cuban singer, met H.E.R.’s manager Jeff Robinson in New York City. Robinson invited him to a session with the new starlet and the rest is history. When asked about the song on popular YouTube star Terrell Grice’s The Terrell Show‘s “Song Association” series,  he revealed an exclusive nugget about who exactly the song was written about.

Love stated that he wrote the majority of the Grammy nominated song about a woman. But this woman was not a romantic love-interest. Instead, the song was written about his mother.

“You guys are lucky… Nobody knows what that song is about but me.” Justin smiles in the camera and shares.  “That song is about my mom. My mom would open up to me. I was my mom’s everything, her strongest anything. My mom, she opened up to me and was like I just want your father to love me… to touch me… me, me, me. Focus on me.”

“Focus was actually the first song I ever wrote (co-wrote) with anyone. I never wrote for anybody before. And I thought that was a perfect opportunity to let a woman speak on [something that mattered to her]. The most special woman in my life [inspired it], it weighed heavy on my heart and I thought she [H.E.R.] was the perfect person to relay that message.”

“So hands in the soap… my mom washed the dishes all the time… I would see her looking at my dad, while my dad is watching T.V.” He continues, “It’s [a song] about women period and what women go through.”

The host Terrell Grice and his popular show has made a name in the music world by providing one of the most comprehensive talent discovery platforms for R&B music. Scouring through the internet, he searches for voices that are undeniably some of the best vocals of his generation. American Idol. The Voice. X Factor. The incredible Stevie Mackey. Todrick Hall. Amber Riley. If they can sing… Grice finds them. And on this episode, Love sings the dickens out of the talent scout.

Justin finishes the segment with this.

“Long story short… I feel like it is really important for women to really speak upon whatever… anything… they go through. And if I can be a voice for anybody, I’ll put it in my pen and I’ll let a woman speak upon it. I mean ’cause only a woman can speak from a woman’s perspective.”

Justin Love has new music available.

Funk Flex Bashes Dame Dash’s ‘Culture Vulture Talk’

DJ Funk Flex got dragged by a couple fans after posting an image with DJ Red Alert and YouTube’s Lyor Cohen on Tuesday, December 18th. Hours later, the legendary DJ hopped on the airwaves on Hot 97 to call out Dame Dash, who has previously called his friend Cohen a culture vulture.

“That ‘culture vulture’ word, I’m not letting that fly with me anymore,” Flex said. “Don’t apply pressure to me on the ‘gram for a friend that I post. I’m going to tell you about Lyor Cohen. He road managed for Run DMC. It’s over, no one is touching that,” Flex continued.

Dame has called many people culture vultures in the past, but Flex argues that Cohen did a lot to help advance his career.

“They cut you millions bro,” Flex explained. “They gave you a million-dollar budget for all the marketing. Def Jam Records made you bro. They changed your life. We’re gonna stop this ‘culture vulture’ talk. That’s the word you talk about your own failures. Dame Dash, I respect you for the utmost way. He helped me get out of a dark place. But bro, you are a liar. You lie because Jay-Z and Lyor aren’t on the gram to call you out on it.”

Apparently the Roc-a-Fella boss heard Funk Flex’s side and offered to discuss matters in person rather than on social media.

“Holla at me when you get a chance,” Dash wrote. “[I] prefer in person so we can speak like men but I doubt you’ll do that. Publicly live would be nice. Don’t make any excuses for not talking to me either be a man #chattypatty and turn your comments back on #doitfortheculture,” Dash wrote as the caption for his Instagram post.

Dame called Cohen a culture vulture after saying he didn’t know who he was on The Breakfast Club four months ago. “Who’s Dame Dash? You brought him up. I don’t even know him. You bring his name up, I don’t even know him. I don’t know him. I really don’t. I don’t know what to tell you,” Cohen said while on The Breakfast Club.

Dame Dash built an amazing brand (The Roc) with Biggs and JayZ! I have a tremendous amount of respect for him as an entrepreneur! I 1,000 percent understand his cockiness! He’s self made and I know u wouldn’t believe me but Jayz would have never been noticed without Dame! But in 2018 I refuse to join the cheerleading squad with Dame in the slander! Without the DefJam machine Roccafella would have died in the wind! Roccafella was being distributed though PAYDAY/FREEZE/SLEEPINGBAG/PRIORITY RECORDS(GOOGLE IT)before DefJam!!!! Jayz would have been another great mc that faded into obscurity if he stayed in that situation! Dame made a lot of money with Lyor! All great partnerships always come to and end! Jayz went his separate way cause Dame didn’t adapt to the fact he needed to refine his personality! No one can remove u if u stay in tune to the surroundings! @duskopoppington I love u dearly my Brother… u helped me in 96 when my back was against the wall… But you are a LIAR… I was there FULLY back then and I was singed to DefJam for the tunnel album… YOU are a LIAR.. that man helped u… There are people with legitimate issues with Lyor! Dame ain’t one of them! it’s always easy to turn people against the rich JEWISH GUY that is still relevant and making money… I love u dearly bro but you foul with that Lyor energy! IM JUST TIRED OF NOT SPEAKING UP ON THIS!!!THE TRUTH IS ALL WE GOT! WHY DO WE CONTINUE TO TWIST IT! A CULTURE VULTURE CANT GET U UNLESS THE CULTURE YOU REPRESENT IS FOR SALE!!!!!! #JustMyOpinion COMMENTS OFF-THIS ISNT OPEN FOR DEBATE! #DameDashIsALiar
