John Singleton’s Outdated Will Leaves $35 Million Estate to his First Born

John Singleton’s family is conflicted over his $35 million estate.

The late director is survived by his seven children, however, when he originally wrote his will in 1993 he only had his first born child, Justice. In other words, the other six children aren’t included in the will.

John’s mother, Sheila Ward-Johnson, filed the document in probate court last week. She listed his assets to about $3.8 million, excluding at least $31 million. Hopefully there’s a trust fund set up and the assets can be peacefully divided among all his children outside of court.

Death and legal affairs can cause a rift in some families. After John Singleton suffered his stroke and was in a coma, it was reported that one of his daughters, Cleopatra, accused their grandmother of trying to take control of his estate and cut them out.

We’re hoping that they come to a resolution that makes everyone happy.

Mac Miller’s Will Reveals Who his Fortune Will go To

Legal documents obtained by E News reveal that Malcom McCormick, formally known as Mac Miller, left his estate to his parents, Mark McCormick and Karen Meyer, and his brother, Miller McCormick. It also lists his lawyer, David Byrnes as the trustee who will remain in charge of the estate. However, if the lawyer is unable to maintain his responsibilities, the duties will be passed down to his brother, Miller.

According to E! News, the will was filed in 2013 at which time Miller’s worth was documented as “unknown.”

Miller was spotted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by TMZ, reportedly preparing for the funeral arrangements on September 14th. “Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by his fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26. He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends, and fans. Thank you for your prayers,” Miller said of his late brother.

Ariana Grande, who dated him for two years before their break up in May broke her silence on Instagram. “Iadored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it … we talked about this many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do,” the singer writes.

Mac Miller was confirmed dead on September 7th by local authorities at his San Fernando Valley home just before noon.

May he rest in peace.

The death of Mac Miller is a moment in time fans and his peers are still processing, with questions about how the young Pittsburgh rapper passed still unanswered. It has come forth that Miller did have a will in place and reveals that his parents will get the largest share of his fortune.

The Blast reports:

According to a probate filed into the court, Mac Miller set up a trust in 2013 and executed a will at that time. He named his parents as trustees, along with a lawyer named David Byrnes to serve as administrator of the estate. It states he has no spouse and no children.

There could be other people named under the late 26-year-old’s trust as beneficiaries, but it appears his parents are getting the lions share.

If the lawyer can’t fulfill his obligations, he named his brother, Miller McCormick as administrator. His brother is also named as a trustee in his trust.

The total amount of Miller’s assets is not known.
