Vogue to Sue Drake and 21 Savage for Fake Cover: ‘Now it’s YOUR Loss’

Vogue to Sue Drake and 21 Savage: 'Now it’s YOUR Loss'

Vogue’s publisher has sued Drake and 21 Savage for posting and distributing a mocked-up Vogue cover as part of their Her Loss promotion campaign.

As part of the rapper’s rollout for the new album,  the duo built up hype with fake magazine covers, interviews, and music sessions. Condé Nast, Vogue magazine’s publishing company, filed a lawsuit against Drake and 21 Savage for their “flippant disregard for Condé Nast’s rights” and demanded that the artists take down social media posts, public posts and stop distribution of the “counterfeit” magazine they created around the Her Loss album.  The suit further alleges that the duo misled fans into believing the magazine would drop a special edition.

According to social media posts after the cease and desist, Condé Nast received evidence that the magazines were still being distributed, leading to “widespread public confusion” and “erroneous press accounts.” The publishing company wants the artists to take down social posts and stop creating and disseminating fake magazines; it’s also seeking damages of up to $4 million dollars.

Yet another reason to love Megan Thee Stallion. We already know the Houston loves anime, now we know she has a soft spot in her heart for horror films and is writing her own movie.

In a new “24 Hours With…” video for Vogue magazine, we not only got a real good look at the one with the good knees, but she also revealed she is writing her own horror film. She was asked about the script that she is currently penning while on the way to visit the Compton Cowboys.

“Oh yes, it’s for a horror film. Everyone knows I f—kin’ love horror movies.”

She was then asked what her favorite horror film was and the Stallion didn’t disappoint with her selection adding

“I’m not even gonna lie to you, I think it’s ‘Evil Dead.’ I like movies that make you semi fall in love with the villain so you have sympathy for him. You’re not gonna want the villain to die, maybe he won’t die. ‘Cause I feel like every good story, you can’t just necessarily kill off the villain. That’s why the Batman never killed Joker. How the f—k would you have Batman with no Joker?”

When she was asked if she saw the Human Centipede (Google it if you dare), the rapper screams to signify she did see the shocking film but also admitted:

You know what, but, I appreciate whoever made that movie. We needed that for the culture.”

Megan continues to impress more and more, you can watch the video that also features here new bestie Jordyn Woods below. Oh, and best believe we are here for this Megan Thee Stallion horror movie.

Rihanna Praises Writer For Winging ‘Vogue’ Interview, Said “That’s Gangster”

Rihanna's 5th Annual Diamond Ball

Rihanna granted Vouge a cover story interview and it was revealed in the piece that the writer on duty didn’t prepare questions ahead of the chat. While the confessional moment drew groans of regret from journalism pros and hopefuls, the Barbadian superstar thought the move was “gangster” in her words.

Last Friday at the Guggenheim in New York, outlet WMD caught Rihanna on the red carpet of an event to celebrate the release of her “visual biography” self-titled coffee-table book. The reporter for Vogue stated that she was rushed for time and couldn’t prep questions for the fashion maven and singer, which angered the masses who thought this was a squandered opportunity.

However, Rihanna told WMD, “No, no, no, no. That’s gangster. For you to get a call the day before being like, ‘Hey, Rihanna’s in L.A., you wanna do this?’ And show up on the dime and write an incredible article that I’m really proud of and enjoyed reading? She’s badass for that.”

Just in case folks thought Rihanna would side with the super-serious journalists who’d never commit such an act, she once again let it be known she had respect for how the piece turned out.

“If you don’t have to prepare, girl, you’re gangster,” Rihanna said in conclusion.

Kendall Jenner is Accused of Culture Appropriation Again

After Kendall Jenner’s racially insensitive Pepsi commercial, the reaction over her Vogue India cover, and obviously, the unauthorized use of Tupac and Biggie’s brand, the Kardashian-adjacent supermodel has found herself in the center of the culture appropriation topic again.

In the most recent incident, Kendall is facing backlash for her recent photoshoot for Vogue with teased hair to resemble an afro and plumped limps. Many argue that the magazine could’ve just hired a naturally Black woman with thick hair.

“Why was her hair teased into a fro when you could use an actual MODEL WITH NATURAL HAIR,” one user wrote, under the Vogue photo, which celebrated the magazine’s CFDA Fashion Fund.

Next time a person with actual freckles and an afro that would be [fire] Vogue,” another wrote.

“Really an afro on a Caucasian model,” a user wrote. “Stop doing this Vogue, it’s getting ridiculous. Hire a model with natural Afro hair.”

“Or instead of forcing Kendall down our throats every month, get a model with a natural afro and freckles,” another said.

In another photo celebrating the fund’s 15th year commemoration, which gave upcoming American designers a shot in the fashion industry, Kendall Jenner poses with Imaan Hammam, who has a fringe cut, while Kendall rocks a frizzy fro.
