As we approach the end of the 2010s, Hip-Hop Wired is taking a look back at some of the top viral moments of the decade. As with all lists, this is based on our personal observations and experience with the moments so we’re sure to miss some of your favorites in the mix.

Things going viral on the Internet isn’t a new concept, but it certainly has become a thing in this decade. From zany videos, dance crazes, over the top challenges, and even hit songs that blew up for unexplained reasons, when something goes viral, it becomes part of the cultural landscape.

With something as subjective as the top viral moments of the decade, we’re clearly going to miss some of the best. From “Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That” to the huge debate over “the dress” among other moments, there’s no way we’re going to get this list completely right.

And like most things that get popular, a lot of folks have gotten some big bags off of going viral including folks like Shiggy, Tay Zonday, the creator of “Chocolate Rain,” and several others. The other side of it is folks going viral, attempting to become a thing and the potential for the bag never materializes for some reason.  Still, if fame was a goal for any of the aforementioned, they at least got on the radar somehow.

Suspected White Supremacist Caught Bloody Fade After Tossing Bottle At Truck

A man suspected of being a white supremacist learned a valuable lesson in minding one’s own business, this after a viral video showed him bloodied in the face after tossing a bottle at a truck. To add insult to injury, the man was forced to clean the truck he flung the bottle towards.

Details are scant but a Twitter user and rapper by the name of Boss Man Banks recorded the incident and posted in on his timeline on July 20. What can be determined is that Boss Man’s cousin’s truck was the target of the alleged pro-white struggle bottle flinger, and video shows the man bleeding from the face as he cleans up the truck.

Boss Man Banks, as most folks are doing these days, took time to promote his music but to also stand up for our Mexican brother and sisters who have been the target of President Donald Trump’s hate, tagging the former business mogul in a Twitter string which garnered the usual response from the MAGA crowd. It isn’t known if Boss Man Banks is Mexican himself, what with him using the n-word at a rapid rate and all.

Even if the white dude isn’t a racist, this is living proof that you don’t start beef you can’t finish.

Oprah Opens Up About That Unseasoned Chicken She Tasted On Her Show Back In 2006

An old video of Oprah hilariously tasting unseasoned chicken has been making its rounds on the internet and now the queen is responding to all the online chatter. In the 2006 clip, Oprah has invited Anna Ginsberg to her talk show to cook up her award-winning chicken recipe.

After just one bite, it was pretty obvious that Oprah’s tastebuds weren’t happy. At the time, she told a desperate Ginsberg “I do like it, I like it very much…I think, did we add salt and pepper? I think we needed salt and pepper.” After Ginsberg said there was no salt and pepper in her dish, Oprah reassured her with “I think it’s delicious.” Watch the hilarious clip below.

Revisiting the funny throwback moment, Oprah says she liked to provide a good experience to guests of the show, so she was torn between being nice and being honest.

“I was having a moment of trying to decide…do I want her to have a great time? What is my real moment of truth?” she explained on Instagram. “Because the truth for me was that I’m used to having salt and pepper on my chicken. That’s just the truth…That’s what I was thinking: “This chicken needs some salt and pepper.”

This Clip Of Claire Foy Rapping Has Folks Shocked [Video]

Claire Foy hit up The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and put on a show that went viral instantly. The Crown star wasn’t expecting to rap on camera, but Fallon—being the hilarious guy he is—brought up an old rumor and requested real-time receipts.

“I heard some weird rumor on the Internet…that you know all the lyrics to ‘Rapper’s Delight,” he said at the end of their chat before handing her a mic. Foy, who we generally think of as a total prude…especially after seeing her play Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown, not only rapped—she rapped every word she could up until commercial break.

Watch for yourself up top but it looks like the rumor is true.

Fade Administration: Student Hands Baltimore Teacher The Fade In Viral Video

A video of a student punching a teacher at a Baltimore, Md. high school has hit the Internet and went viral. The Baltimore City Public Schools system is investigating the incident, and it was said the teacher who was punched just received cancer treatment.

The Baltimore Sun reports:

The video, posted to Instagram Wednesday afternoon, depicts two students bickering while standing close to a teacher. At one point one of the students backs away and the other student strikes the teacher, who recoils. The student then leaves the classroom while cursing.

Baltimore City schools spokeswoman Edie House-Foster said in a statement that after a review of the incident, “school administrators will apply disciplinary action in accordance with Baltimore City Public Schools’ Code of Conduct.”

She also said: “Ensuring a safe teaching and learning environment for our students and staff is paramount to City Schools.”

If any legal action has taken place in the matter, it has yet to be announced. The Baltimore Teachers Union issued a statement on the matter, calling the student’s actions “absolutely deplorable.”
