Aaliyah Fans Highlight the Lack of Women Features in Forthcoming Album

Aaliyah's Mother Postpones Day of Remembrance ‘Due To The Behavior Of An Individual’ Who Visited Her ‘Resting Place To Promote A Book’

Aaliyah’s posthumous album Unstoppable is expected to be released sometime this month. Even though fans should be happy with all the new music coming their way, the feeling is more of disappointment rather than excitement.

According to HipHopDX the late singer’s uncle, Barry Hankerson, was recently a guest on The Geno Jones Show, where he spoke about the forthcoming album and its guest features. According to Hankerson, the album will have appearances by The WeekndDrakeSnoop DoggFuture, and Ne-Yo, and the estate feels confident with this output.

“One of the songs that’s out now is doing incredibly well. And that’s the song that she did with Weeknd,” Hankerson said. “Because of that success, we think it’ll only get better with people such as Ne-Yo and Snoop Dogg, Future, and Drake — one of her biggest fans. Those are the features that’ll be on the record and that’ll be out in January.”

Aaliyah’s fans instantly took to social media to voice their opinions after the statement by Geno was released. Fans ridiculed the late singer’s estate for allegedly wasting a golden opportunity in making a great album.

One of the biggest issues people have with Unstoppable is the lack of R&B representation on the album. Fans do not want an Aaliyah project to sound too Hip Hop, and they want an album with female artists as opposed to the feature list being male-dominated.

“Imagine having the opp to create a new Aaliyah album with an entire generation of women that were directly influenced (Ciara, Teyana, Tinashe, Normani, Jhene, CxH, H.E.R., Sevyn, etc.) but instead we get Snoop Dogg, Neyo, Future, CB, a weird Weeknd song…yikes,” a fan tweeted.

Despite fan reactions, Barry Hankerson isn’t giving in. During an August interview with Billboard, Hankerson broke down the plans for all of Aaliyah’s releases and how he’s living with all the hate that’s being thrown his way.

The Game Believes He Never Got His Flowers In The Music Industry

The Game to young rappers advice

The “Hate it or Love it” rapper says the music industry hasn’t shown him the respect he deserves.

Popular West Coast rapper The Game believes the music industry is yet to acknowledge him because he is yet to be a “puppet” for money. On Sunday, October 24th the emcee took to Twitter to express his feelings about his Hip Hop career.

” never got my flowers from the industry cause wouldn’t be a puppet for the dollar bill #ThugLife,” he tweeted. “You know how many of your favorite WEST COAST artists I hand a hand in puttin on??? Just being a good n***a. Was offered finders fees, could’ve signed n****s….. etc, I just wanted to see n****s from my side win.”

The Game then added, “Ask Dr. Dre…. Ask Top Dawg, ask n****s… I been solid for n****s since 2003 in this shit. The definition of “GOOD LOOKIN.”

According to REVOLT, the form G-Unit rapper said that he was the best rapper to come out of Compton — even being ahead of Kendrick Lamar. The Game made this statement during a Clubhouse conversation with West Coast rappers Kxng Crooked and Glasses Malone. “Can’t nobody in Compton out rap Game, n***a. Can’t nobody in Compton out rap me,” he stated. “Kendrick my n***a. Kendrick doing his shit. I love that n***a to death. N***a, I flew past Kendrick when that n***a was on foot, n***a, in a Range Rover and showed him how to do this shit.”

He continued with confidence, “Don’t play. Don’t play with Game name. Compton, n***a. Hardest n***a in Compton, rapping, lyricist, me. Any n***a that say any different, I’ll body him and any n***a he fuck with.” The rapper also claimed that he considered, Kendrick Lamar, MC Ren, and DJ Quik to be the top three rappers from his hometown, aside from himself.

The Game has been around for a long time, and as his recent claims say he did put artists on songs and give them a bigger platform but it is factual that no one holds him on the same level as other Hip Hop legends.

Boosie Badazz Goes on Homophobic Twitter Rant Aimed at Lil Nas X

boosie getty images.0 750x400 1

Lil Nas X took to his Instagram live to tell his fans about a collaboration with Boosie Badazz, whose reaction was not kind at all.

[Editor’s note: The article below, which quotes Boosie Badazz’s comments directed at Lil Nas X, contains potentially distressing language about suicide.]

The controversial rapper said to his fans, “I been working on this song with Lil Boosie, bro. I have this song with Lil Boosie, gonna come out.” This live recording began circulating on the internet and everyone took it as Lil Nas X “Trolling” again. Boosie Badazz took the joke differently, going on a homophobic Twitter rant suggesting the “Old Town Road” rapper commit suicide.

“STOP TROLLING ME F—– LOL!! U A WHOLE B—- PLAYING WITH A GANGSTA SMH U CAN KEEP SUCKING D— N GETTIN F—ED N YOUR A– N PEACE N #uhateyourself I WOULD TOO IF I WAS YOU LOL NASx IF YOU #commitsuicide YOU WOULD DO THIS WORLD A HUGE FAVOR NOBODY WANTS U HERE,” Badazz tweeted.

The Tweet has since been deleted for violating Twitter’s terms of service. Lil Nas X, who was recently honored as The Trevor Project’s Suicide Prevention Advocate of the Year, was yet to respond to Boosie Badazz. Now trending on Twitter because of Boosie’s hateful comments, Lil Nas X instead used his platform to tweet, “i am truly saddened. i have never been so mortified in my life. i can’t believe disney channel has yet to play halloween town this entire october.”

“Discrimination around sexuality and gender identity is still very real, and our community deserves to feel supported and totally free to be themselves,” Lil Nas X told listeners back in September when he was honored by the Trevor Project, which provides suicide prevention resources for LGBTQ+ youth and crisis interventions. “I often get messages from fans telling me about their struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts, and it made me realize that this was something bigger than myself. If using my voice and expressing myself in my music can help even one kid out there who feels alone, then it was all worth it.”

Boosie Badazz is known for speaking negatively about Lil Nas X several times over the past few months. In September, Lil Nas X stated the comments did not have any effect on him.

“I was listening to Boosie in the club the other day. I don’t really care. Honestly, I wish they didn’t say it, I guess,” Lil Nas said of the “Wipe Me Down” rapper during an appearance on The Breakfast Club. “But I like the music, I’m gonna listen to the music. If somebody got beef with me, that doesn’t mean I got beef with them.”

When asked if he would respond to the hateful messages, Lil Nas X stated, “Only if I have something really witty.”

Lil Nas X seems unbothered by the constant remarks made by Boosie Badazz on social media. Boosie, on the other hand, had his Instagram removed several times this year. At the beginning of October, he was removed from upcoming tour dates following an onstage brawl, and the rapper spent a day in jail as a result.

Kanye West: “I Am Distancing Myself From Politics and Completely Focusing On Being Creative!!!”

In the latest from the wild and wonky world of Kanye West, the controversial rapper that’s gearing up to release his upcoming YANDHI album is officially, for now anyway, distancing himself from politics.

After the months of backlash he’s received for his support of President Donald Trump, his extremely debatable comments on the enslavement of African-Americans and the most recent co-sign for Blacks to leave the Democratic party by purchasing “Blexit” T-Shirts, he went on Twitter today (October 30) to officially stop publicly giving his political opinions and, in his words, “completely focusing on being creative.”

We’d rather you guys read it directly from him, so read below to see his latest rant in full via @kanyewest:

Here’s what our CEO and Chairman has to say about all of this:

“If Kanye’s “awakened” moment concerning Donald Trump is true, I hope he also corrects his other comments made about African-Americans. Then, I am sure many will be pleased Kanye came to his senses, as he must seek to remedy the harm done by his words and actions. These human rights issues are far bigger than Kanye, or any others seeking White House access and acceptance; it’s about the respect and dignity of all people in America and abroad.”

— L. Londell McMillan, current owner/publisher of The Source and former entertainment attorney of Kanye West.

Kanye, we’re praying for you, man.
